SpongeBob SquarePants: 10 Sandy Memes That True Fans Will Love

SpongeBob SquarePants fans know and love Sandy Cheeks, the Texas tough squirrel with a love for science that lives underwater among the "sea critters." Over the years, fans have gotten to know Sandy, whether she's going after worms or putting SpongeBob through some kind of torture as she wants to do everything before she goes into hibernation.

Sandy's moments have since become memorable memes celebrating her character's quirks and even blending the character with real-world events, like Hurricane Sandy.

10 Sandy On Land

It's impressive that Sandy the squirrel made a home for herself in Bikini Bottom. Though she did once remove her helmet while in the Krusty Krab to prove a point to SpongeBob and the others, and it backfired big time, especially when she had to stick her head in a pickle jar as a quick substitute. Given that instance, she may in turn briefly forget that "sea critters" don't sustain life on the surface like she can, and therein lies the hilarity of this meme. She'd have to be sure to bring some helmets filled with water for anyone that accompanied her back to land.

9 Oh No You Ain't!

In the above image, the green fish was literally molded into the shape of SpongeBob, pretending to be him, and Sandy did not buy it in the least, even with the fish's attempt at "I'm ready, I'm ready!" The meme is funny because of that moment, but also because it can be applied to similar situations, in which the façade is so obvious it's ridiculous, and therefore, hilarious.

8 Peanut Butter Is Not Available

Mayonnaise is not an instrument, and kicking people in band practice isn't acceptable, either. Patrick learned that the hard way, and he definitely chose to kick the wrong person; namely, Sandy. It's easy to imagine Sandy being short with Patrick afterwards, especially if he was asking about peanut butter, or any other condiment, for that matter.

Though, if nothing else, Patrick certainly makes band practice hilarious and memorable!

7 No One Likes Being Joked About

Anyone that's had a joke go around about them can certainly relate to Sandy's fury when she was woken up during hibernation by Patrick and SpongeBob. It's annoying and hurtful depending on the context of the joke. Jokes are fine, as long as they're not conducted behind someone's back or meant to be hurtful or embarrassing. Hopefully, the person that the joke was about doesn't have a wrath equivalent to Sandy's to unleash upon the person who started the joke!

6 Also Known As...

Hurricane Sandy was an awful real-life event in 2012, and it's easy to see why Sandy from SpongeBob SquarePants would be compared. She has a fiery temper and can certainly cause mass destruction, especially if she uses karate. "Hurricane Sandy" would be an apt nickname for her character, especially if any other member of Bikini Bottom ever dared to make fun of Texas again.

5 Running For Survival

Audiences remember Sandy's reaction to SpongeBob and Patrick making fun of her home state. That certainly didn't bode well for the best friends.

However, it makes for a hilarious meme commemorating the incident. Audiences may or may not know someone like Sandy; if anything, though, they can take away that they should never make fun of someone's home, especially if they're from Texas.

4 French Fries Are Off-Limits, Especially To Patrick

Sandy looks especially mad in this meme, but that's relatable and hilarious to audiences. No one likes it when someone takes someone else's food, especially when they do so without asking first. This meme is similar to how Joey from Friends feels; audiences know that Joey doesn't share food. Ever. Perhaps someone taking vegetables or anything less delectable than French fries would get away scot-free; otherwise, it's completely unacceptable.

3 Don't Mess With Texas

Audiences know how much Sandy loves Texas, and how protective she is of it. She's willing to destroy SpongeBob and Patrick when they start making fun of Texas. Though they're really trying to lure her into a party at the Krusty Krab, hoping to remedy her homesickness, Sandy doesn't realize it after she's already snatched Patrick, leading to an explosion behind SpongeBob, and nearly does the same to the audience's favorite sponge. This meme recognizes that moment, but with an extra destructive flair, making that scene far more deadly and scary, but perfectly matching Sandy's fury and, in a manner of speaking, Patrick's explosive fate.

2 A Standout Personality

Audiences can certainly relate to this meme, especially in regards to their significant others. Naturally, they'd want their significant other to be sweet and kind, but be able to be strong and a fighter when need be. Life is unpredictable, testing audiences, and having someone who can switch gears like Sandy certainly comes in handy when it comes to dealing with just about anything.

However, balance is the key, so if audiences find a significant other like Sandy, they ought to keep her.

1 Dirty Dan Is Going Down

This meme references real-life Hurricane Sandy of 2012. This meme takes that horrible event and turns it into a reference to Sandy from SpongeBob SquarePants, going after Dirty Dan, a villain she dreamt about while she was hibernating in "Survival of the Idiots." SpongeBob and Patrick made the mistake of fighting over who would be Dirty Dan and suffered for it; leave it to Sandy to have the same kind of power and fury as the real-life hurricane in her pursuit for Dirty Dan.
