Evil Season 2 Teaser Trailer Reveals June Premiere Date

A teaser trailer for season 2 of Evil reveals a premiere date in June. This news comes on the heels of the announcement that the popular CBS drama is moving to Paramount+. The first season of Evil aired in September 2019 and quickly became known as one of the best horror shows on network television. Created by The Good Wife and The Good Fight’s Robert and Michelle King, the supernatural drama was quickly renewed for a second season after airing just a few episodes.

Evil follows Dr. Kristen Bouchard (Katja Herbers), a forensic psychologist, and David Acosta (Mike Colter), a Catholic priest-in-training, who are hired to investigate supernatural events and assess their legitimacy. The cast also includes familiar faces such as Aasif Mandvi, Lost’s Michael Emerson, Christine Lahti, and Kurt Fuller. The show was a hit from the get-go, averaging about 6 million viewers across season 1's 13 episodes.

Now, Paramount+ is providing the first look at the much-buzzed season 2 of Evil in the form of a teaser trailer, which also reveals a premiere date in June. For those who fell in love with the show's supernatural horror vibe, it appears season 2 will provide more of the same. Season 1 of Evil also ended on a shocking cliffhanger as it was heavily implied that Kristen murdered a serial killer who was stalking her family. Judging by the trailer, season 2 appears to be picking up there. The trailer also reveals season 2 will arrive on Parmount+ on June 20. Watch the new teaser trailer for Evil below:

Season 2 of Evil might reach an even bigger audience than season 1, since the show experienced a resurgence in popularity after it starting streaming on Netflix last Fall. Although the fact that it will be streaming exclusively on Paramount+ instead of airing in primetime on CBS, might prevent it from eclipsing these numbers.

Kristen and David investigated everything from miracles to demonic possession throughout season 1 of Evil, so it will be interesting to see what other extraordinary occurrences they will encounter. Based on the trailer, it certainly seems that demons will be the central focus of season 2. Since Evil is far from a traditional network procedural, it always seemed a little out of place on CBS, so perhaps it will be much more suited for a streaming service like Paramount+ when it airs on June 20.
