Homelander flies into action in new set photos from The Boys season 3. Amazon Prime Video made a big splash in the superhero genre of entertainment in 2019 with the debut of The Boys. The first two seasons were so well-received and popular that Amazon gave The Boys season 3 an early renewal, and the service has also announced plans for a college-based spinoff. The show's success more recently saw it honored with 6 Primetime Emmy nominations.
Fans are anxiously anticipating season 3 to see how the show continues the various storylines set up by The Boys' season 2 finale. The show will continue to focus on Hughie Campbell (Jack Quaid), Billy Butcher (Karl Urban), Starlight (Erin Moriarty), and Homelander (Antony Starr). The Boys season 3 will also introduce multiple new Supes, such as Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) and Crimson Countess (Laurie Holden). Outside of casting information and repeated teases of the Herogasm storyline from the comics, details on what next season will hold have been relatively limited.
Filming on The Boys season 3 is still underway in Toronto, Canada, and now The Daily Mail has shared a few new set photos from the production. The latest images focus on Homelander and his presence at a rally or protest. Starr is seen in the Homelander costume and attached to wires to simulate flying. It isn't clear if Homelander is just arriving at the scene during these photos or preparing to take off. In either case, Homelander is surrounded by his supporters, as signs saying "Keep America Safe" and "American Safety First" can be seen.

Homelander being surrounded by a small but vocal group of his supporters is something The Boys has featured before. These scenes traditionally take place at an event put on by Vought International, but that might not be the case here. Early marketing for The Boys season 3 has teased that Vought could be turning on Homelander, so these civilians could gather on their own to show their support. Of course, that doesn't appear to be the only reason they are gathering, as the signs they are carrying signal The Boys tackling more social and political ideas in season 3, such as immigration and nationalism.
These new set photos for The Boys season 3 are certainly intriguing. It is still unclear, though, when the new season will debut on Amazon Prime Video. Production was delayed because of COVID-19 and safety protocols could extend the shoot as well. It's been almost exactly a year since The Boys season 2 debuted, but the wait for season 3 will be at least a few months longer since filming is still underway. Fans would certainly be delighted to see The Boys season 3 by the end of 2021, but Amazon could potentially hold it to 2022.
