Netflix's runaway hit reality dating show Love is Blind has a reunion coming up but fans just can't wait to find out what happened to the couples who called it quits. No couple's end was quite as dramatic as that of Damian and Giannina and though it was previously confirmed they re-engaged right the finale, it appears Gigi's mother may have accidentally confirmed that they are still together now almost a year and a half later!
Giannina and Damian had one of the more rocky relationships. While there was no shortage of passion they had their share of ups and downs. Still, no one was prepared for the moment when Giannina said yes only to have Damian say no. In a raw and painful moment, she fled the wedding, even slipping in the mud and leaving fans with the heartbreaking visual of the jilted bride with a dress ripped and muddy and tears streaming down her face. When her mother finally caught up to her, the two cried together. The subsequent confrontation with Damian was no less dramatic. Despite all this, fans were left with the nagging feeling that there was love between the couple that was being lost in the pressure of the expedited timeline the show creates.
Despite rumors that the two had reunited shortly after the finale, there was no evidence to clue fans in on if these two were able to make a long term go of it. That is until a recent slip up by GiGi's mother Milady on her Instagram account. While the interaction between her mother and a fan has since been deleted, Buzzfeed was able to obtain some screenshots of the posts. While neither the original question or the response by the Love is Blind contestant's mother was in English, Buzzfeed provided an English translation of both posts. According to their translation a fan posted on a photo of Milady hugging her daughter and said: "But why do you follow Damian on Instagram like you're forgiving that he left your daughter at the altar. Ma'am, explain that! Is this all acting?!" The English translation of her response was said to say, "It's not acting, not even a little bit. I follow Damian simply because they reconciled and are still together, they love each other and it was best for [the wedding not going ahead] to happen because that way they could get to know each other better."
Does that mean what fans think it does? It sounds pretty clear that she is, in fact, saying that the passionate couple is still together in 2020. Since the show aired in 2018 that means they have been together over a year. Fans can collectively breathe a sigh of relief after being left stunned by the finale. A closer look at the photos from the reunion shows the couple sitting suspiciously close together when the other couples that split are either on opposite sides of the hosts or if seated next to each other have significant space between them.
Fans cannot wait to hear from the couple directly, but for many, they think they already have cracked the case. While Milady removed the post fairly quickly, nothing is ever really deleted on the internet and the evidence remains. It seems like the mother is happy with her daughter's ex or possibly current fiancé as she follows him on social media. The mother and daughter duo were close and had similar personalities and it just seems highly unlikely she'd interact in any way with a man she believed broke her daughter's heart unless there was a reconciliation. Fans will find out Thursday and then everyone can stalk their favorite cast members on social media while waiting for the next batch of contestants to root for. Love is Blind Season 2 is happening and everyone is beyond excited.
The Love is Blind season reunion airs Thursday, March 5th on Netflix.
