Netflix's Tiny House Nation: 10 Most Gorgeous Homes That We'd Actually Live In

The tiny house movement is a great solution for a lot of people. Simplifying one's life can usher in a carefree feeling that is harder to achieve with the stress of paying rent or a mortgage. As Phil says in his episode, "We can focus on the people in our lives, not the things."

It's a cool idea to downsize everything to a small but functional home. However, it takes a lot of work to build the perfect tiny house. John Weisbarth and Zack Giffin are the pros who can deliver big dreams in small spaces. Here are the 10 most gorgeous houses they come up with that we would love to call home.

10 Tiny Forever After

Peter and Elizabeth have many life adjustments ahead of them. They are about to get married and move from Atlanta to Maine. Oh, and they're building a tiny house to take with them. They call in the experts to help them get the house done in time to move. The finished product leaves their exterior of soft tan wood pretty much the same, and the newly finished interior is a dream.

The living room has a comfy grey couch and a small wood-burning fireplace to keep them warm. The kitchen is below a cozy bedroom loft with a latch opening onto a miniature deck! The colors and lighting are soothing and definitely make this a place we would want to live in.

9 Tiny House Builders Can't Jump

Zack and John have their hands full with a tiny house for a deserving Florida couple. Dave and Mickie want to live simply and save money so that they can get their youngest daughter through college and give back to their community. John and Zack collaborate with a tiny house builder named Mike to fulfill a tall order -- Mickie and Dave want accommodation for their family of five to sleep comfortably.

They get their wish! The finished home, with a smooth grey exterior and French doors, is sleek, minimalist, and functional on the inside. Drawers turn into TV trays, cabinets pull down into an extra bed, and Mickie has a sweet ergonomic desk set-up.

8 Empty Nest, Full House

Phil and Karen from Maryland need a tiny house when their rental home falls through. John and Zack work late into the night to make the tiny house everything Karen and Phil need.

The white exterior with the blue door leads to a light and airy interior and "cozy cottage feel." The couple gets a convertible bed/office space, an optional privacy wall, and yes -- room for the whole family. The TV flips down to reveal bunk beds with blow-up mattresses. It looks like a designer home.

7 Two Turntables And A Tiny House

Tony and Lori are a Texas couple looking to embrace the tiny house way of life with their two little boys, Nyas and Isko. John and Zack help them finish this project and the final result is a welcoming blue home (that doesn't look that tiny) with a slide-out awning.

Not only is the inside a pretty space -- it is fun and functional. The boys get their own loft, a net to crawl on, and an indoor swing and playroom. As the episode title indicates, there is even a roll-out DJ station for Tony, complete with the family's record collection. It would certainly be a delightful home to live in.

6 Building Mini In Mississippi

Tierra and Tommy are nurses in Greenville, Mississippi who want the tiny lifestyle. When all is said and done, it's hard to believe the new home is tiny at all! It has beautifully stained wood and pops of blue color around the windows and doors. Inside, there's an adorable kitchen and exquisite backsplash, a simple loft bedroom, and an inviting living room. There's even a little doggy-gate with pull-out feeding bowls to keep the dogs from going up to the loft.

The best part? An outdoor patio furnished with strung lights, a smoker, flowers, seating, a corn hole, and a doggy hotel. Lastly, there's a giant inflatable theater screen, a popcorn table, and a picnic table that turns into a bench.

5 Going Tiny In Music City

Ben and Rebecah are moving from LA to Nashville so that Ben can pursue his music career. They get a "grand, elegant, and fancy" tiny home, even though they have two little girls, Maribella and Arolina. It's the swankiest tiny house you've ever seen. Ben gets his guitar, recording equipment, and miraculously, a grand piano! Ben and Rebecah also have a trendy kitchen with beautiful tiling, a sweet room for their little girls, and a simple but dreamy bedroom for themselves.

Rebecah has plenty of storage for her fashion design materials, too. The girls have their own tiny pull-out ballet barre and mirror, which they can enjoy while they look at the luxe chandelier! Unfortunately, there has been some controversy around why this couple got evicted from the home.

4 A Firefighter Rebuilds

This is an emotional project for the tiny house experts. Scott and Xanthie lost their home in the California wildfires. Scott is a volunteer firefighter who cares deeply about helping others. Xanthie and Scott are ready to put down roots again with a tiny home. They deserve an awesome new place and that's exactly what they get.

Their dinner parties will be better than ever with a large dining table inside a greenhouse and an impressive grill. In the main house, there's a fresh and decent-sized kitchen with top-grade appliances and a nifty contractible island/table. The house has lots of windows for extra light, perfect for the new owners. With a third table available outside (convertible from some wooden benches), the place looks great for a party!

3 Dad's Tiny Homecoming

Jack and Rocky live in Jacksonville, Florida, and want out from under their mortgage so that they can enjoy life with their daughters, Kirsten and Meila. They have a pretty big wish list, like having a pool, and the structure of their tiny home is a larger model. Before they can move into the new place, they've got lots of clutter to go through. It's all worth it, though.

The neutral color scheme fits with the beach town vibe of Jacksonville. In addition to lovely bedrooms, the little girls get fun play spaces. The inside has a net, a fireman's pole, and a mini rock-climbing wall. Outside, there's a playground set with an even bigger rock wall. And yes, the family gets a pool. But not just any pool -- a smart pool that they can control with their phone!

2 Tiny Digs For Racing Pigs

John and Zack go to Fayetteville, Arkansas, to help pig racers Carol and Charlie, who want to go from their busy travels on the Hambone Express to their retired life on land in northwest Arkansas. This episode is unique because the home is not a traditional tiny house -- it's a school bus! You wouldn't believe how cool it looks as Charlie and Carol first walk up to the finished home. The bus is parked under a huge outdoor patio roof.

It's the ultimate entertaining spot, with subtle but warm lighting. There are pieces of stunning woodworking and striking tiling throughout. It's relaxing whether they sit inside or outside. In addition to the outdoor dining area and fire pit, Carol gets an outdoor soaking tub where she can "bathe under the stars."

1 Tiny Times Two

Deanna is a single mom in Texas who lost her home in a fire. She has four children, two still at home. She wants two tiny homes so that she can give the second one to her teenage son, Dane. The finished main house is cozy and looks like a page right out of a decorating catalog, especially the breathtakingly clean and polished kitchen. Deanna also gets plenty of closet space for her collection.

The color scheme is a perfect mix of greys, whites, and golds. Dane's house is pretty cool, too, with a homework area and a gaming center. It has a modern look with dark cabinetry and LED lights. Throw in a treehouse and trampoline for younger son Sterling, and the family is all set.
