Apex Legends Season 7 Kicks Off With All-New Floating Olympus Map

While fans wait for Apex Legends Season 7, developer Respawn Entertainment has revealed a new map it will bring for players to battle on, called Olympus. Respawn previously revealed the new Season 7 character, Horizon, in a trailer called "Promise" showcasing her backstory. It reveals her using crystals to manipulate time and gravity, which could lead to an interesting interaction with the new map. Olympus was also glimpsed in the Horizon trailer as well, revealed to be a beautiful city.

After the new map arrives, Apex Legends will be three maps in total: Kings Canyon, World's Edge, and Olympus. It was theorized the next map would actually be a tropical island - imaginatively referred to as Tropic Island - according to leaks, but it's possible that the map will be for another season. The name sounds more fitting for a summer event, though the map might not actually exist at all. However, Tropic Island remaining a rumor for now isn't too disappointing, as Olympus brings a new map design to the table that players may help invigorate the game.

Publisher EA revealed Olympus, set to release in Season 7. It focuses on a floating city in the skies, known for its prosperity and beauty. This gives an interesting dynamic in comparison to the previous maps, which were more focused on the less fortunate side of Apex Legends' world. Olympus has been seen previously to have tall buildings, which could provide an interesting battlefield for players to fight around. This is also likely why Apex Legends is adding a vehicle called the Trident, to give players more options to move around the map. With so much height to maneuver through, this map could easily lend itself to entirely new tactics.

As of now, it's still uncertain whether or not the UFO that has been spotted recently in Apex Legends has anything to do with Olympus. Developer Respawn Entertainment refuses to say anything about it, but players are connecting it to the artwork from a previous game trailer. Whether or not the UFO actually has any meaning, there are many features being added to the game besides a new map that players can be excited for. For starters, Apex Legends plans to release on Steam, adding yet another platform for people to try out the game. Apex Legends' Steam release also introduces some new gun charms relating to Portal and Half-Life.  There will also be clubs and battle passes to encourage players to be more active and build a stronger community with each other. All of this of course being released with a new Ranked Season.

With Apex Legends Season 7's release on November 4, players can only do nothing but wait. Its new character, map, and vehicle could give the battle royale a whole new lease on life if they live up to the fan expectations that have already built up in the short time since their reveal.
