Friends has so many seasons of holidays and festivities, and with 2020 Halloween around the corner - it's definitely time to celebrate the best costumes that have appeared on this show. While Thanksgiving is definitely some fans cup of tea, most were more than entertained by its one spectacular Halloween episode.
There were enough costumes to go around, plus, this show is full of the characters dressing up in some pretty obscure outfits - and could definitely inspire (and pass for) a Halloween costume. It's time to celebrate the best of the best, even if they're not all that spooky!
10 Chandler's Bunny
Monica originally wanted Chandler to dress up as the "Velveteen Rabbit", which was his favorite book as a child. However, all she could find was a bright pink bunny costume, which was more than hilarious.
Chandler dove right into the costume in all his Chandler sarcasm, and it was more than enough to entertain fans to watch a potato and a bunny in an arm-wrestling match.
9 Joey's Gladiator
This wasn't exactly for Halloween, but it might be one of the best costumes to appear on the show. While Joey didn't get to make his movie, he did get to dress up as a cool gladiator at Caesar's Palace.
Plus, this episode in Las Vegas is definitely a fan favorite. Ross and Rachel's 'human doodle' look is also a good choice for a costume. This episode was full of some pretty iconic looks..
8 Monica's Catwoman
Honestly, fans probably wouldn't bother Monica in this costume. Not only does she look totally stunning, but she is a pretty convincing superhero, and would probably kick butt.
As far as people dressing up as Catwoman goes, Monica definitely outdid herself, and might have had the actual best Halloween costume on the series.
7 Phoebe's Superwoman
Where there's Cat(wo)man, there's always Super(wo)man, and Phoebe was this for Monica (at least, Supergirl!). Phoebe was such a good Supergirl that she had to remind Monica that it was really her!
She was the quirkiest and most beautiful Supergirl there ever was, and fans are definitely looking to dress up as Phoebe dressing up as Supergirl.
6 Ross' Armadillo
Somehow, this costume actually appeared on Christmas, and fans might never forget the 'holiday armadillo'. In fact, it's one image of Ross that lovers of this show might never get out of their heads.
As far as costumes go, though, it's pretty bold, and who doesn't want to be an armadillo for Halloween? Probably everyone, but Ross made it seem at least kind of fun and interesting.
5 Gunther's Charlie Brown
All fans know that Gunther showed up at the Halloween party for Rachel, but he actually made a pretty convincing, hilarious, and lovable Charlie Brown. Forget going as Gunther for Halloween, because this twist is worth it.
It's a little sad that he never got the attention he deserves, so he certainly earned a slot on this list for best Halloween costume over the course of the series.
4 Joey's 'Chandler'
This might be the most hilarious on the list, and is one that fans can appreciate for all its simplicity and hilarity. Joey didn't need anything for his costume - except for his roommate's closet.
Joey dressing up as Chandler for Halloween was more than enough to make everyone laugh, and was definitely a memorable costume.
3 Monica's Old-Fashioned Diner Look
One of the more embarrassing on the list, it's hard to ever forget Monica wearing a blonde wig, fake breasts, roller-skates, and a bright pink sweater. Sure, the gang was the first to make fun of her for it, but she did get a date out of it!
Plus, this look could definitely be a Halloween costume, and it would be the life of the party that no one would be able to stop looking at. And - it's totally unique, with the right flair of Monica.
2 Rachel's Expensive Dress
There's probably nothing more relatable than Rachel dressing up in a pretty dress on Halloween. Rather than spending money on a costume to wear once, she was really thinking about using her pennies wisely.
Not only did she look breathtaking in this outfit, but it's totally hilarious, and more than relatable for all those that don't like dressing up for this holiday. For this Halloween, there are many that could take a page out of Rachel's book.
1 Ross' 'Spud-nik'
Only Ross would think of merging a potato with a Russian satellite, and this also made Chandler's bunny costume not look so bad. However, Ross is absolutely adorable with his science pun, and it's certainly something fans will always remember.
It might not be the prettiest costume, and it certainly has some cringe, but it's all Ross - and lovers of this show have certainly recreated it for their own costumes. With Halloween around the corner, this might be a good last minute DIY option.
