A Green Arrow-themed skin is on its way to Fortnite come January, but a select few lucky members of the battle royale's subscription service found the character set early this week. The Emerald Archer is just the latest in a collection of DC Comics characters to appear in Fortnite, on top of several other pop culture crossovers.
Developer Epic Games announced back in November that it would be launching a new Fortnite subscription service, called Fortnite Crew, alongside the release of Chapter 2 Season 5. For $12 a month, members receive permanent access to the season's battle pass, as well as 1,000 V-bucks and a monthly Crew Pack including exclusive skins, weapons, and accessories. These items are only available to subscribers. The first outfit bundle included a galaxy-themed skin, a pickaxe, and back bling. Fortnite Crew's second pack was not supposed to be released until next month, but Epic accidentally made it available early for a short time.
Twitter user YouTubeCDNR shared a video of the hooded character dancing with glow sticks and performing other emotes, as well as fighting with a sword and a gun. The design appears to be modeled after Oliver Queen from the CW series Arrow, played by Stephen Amell. Another leaked image from arusaurZ_YT showed a green arrow back bling set and a green boxing glove.
In addition to DC's Green Arrow, a few more Marvel-themed skins are also coming to Fortnite, according to a recent leak from data miner FrenzyLeaks. Black Panther, Captain Marvel, and Taskmaster are slated to join the in-game shop within the next few weeks, each with their own back bling and harvesting tools, plus two gliders. These comic book hero skins were supposed to join Fortnite during the Marvel-themed Season 4, but they were delayed. Better late than never.
Fortnite has already delivered plenty of crossovers, including a few other DC Comics skins. A Last Laugh bundle last month contained The Joker, Poison Ivy, and Midas Rex. Additionally, Chapter 2 Season 5 has already brought in Fortnite skins for The Mandalorian and Baby Yoda, as well as God of War's Kratos. There's going to be plenty more where that came from, considering that this season is based on famous bounty hunters from different dimensions. The Green Arrow skin is sure to be a huge hit with DC Comics fans when it officially arrives in Fortnite early next year, so be on the lookout for its release.
Fortnite is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, PC, and mobile devices.
