Disney Sidekicks, Ranked Least To Most Likely To Win The Hunger Games

In the Disney catalog, there are of course Princesses and Princes, heroes and villains, Kings and Queens. But there's also sidekicks, those colorful, friendly characters who provide more than a few laughs, and a whole lot of heart, to their respective films.

Should these wholesome fellows find themselves inside a Hunger Games arena, they probably wouldn't know what to do. Their competition is friendlier, less violent and shocking than any other. More than a few musical numbers take place, and even if some take the competition more seriously than others, this edition of the Games is unlike any other Panem's ever seen.

10 Jiminy Cricket

The personification of conscience, the comical and wisecracking Jiminy Cricket simply won't stand for the Game's barbaric nature. He refuses to participate in any way and instead retreats as far away from the action as he possibly can.

Naturally, passivity does not a good show make, and the Gamemakers create a fire nearby from where Jiminy is. The cricket narrowly escapes, but then, physically and mentally tired, he succumbs to his exhaustion and is unable to escape the poisonous fog that rapidly surrounds him.

9 Cogsworth

The Games are no place for a refined gentleman like Cogsworth. Indeed, the majordomo-turned-pendulum-clock finds the arena's uncomfortable conditions far worse than all the carnage that's supposed to be happening. He immediately tries to assume the leadership of the group, but quickly gets rejected by the other tributes.

Made out of wood, Cogsworth's fragility is his biggest weakness. It doesn't take much time before he falls into a river while running, and the current severely damages him. By the time he manages to exit the water, and with his inner mechanisms failing, Cogsworth knows it's only a matter of time before he shuts down for good.

8 Louis

It doesn't take long before the other tributes, and audiences, see past Louis's terrifying exterior, discovering a sweet and slightly neurotic personality. Throughout his time in the arena, the alligator is more concerned with playing his trumpet than in actually trying to win the Games.

Wanting a peaceful place to concentrate on his melodies, he goes to the marsh portion of the arena, where he feels most at home. There, he becomes too distracted by a gift one of the sponsors sent him, to notice the thunderstorm that's fast approaching. Lightning strikes him down, and another cannon roars in the sky.

7 Pascal

Small but surprisingly angry, Pascal is an unexpected threat. His chameleonic abilities, freakishly long tongue, and minimal stature allow him to move, almost undetectably, and inflict considerable damage to the other tributes.

Still, and even though he enjoys the competition a bit more than anyone else, Pascal is simply too small to ever be an actual threat to the others. He makes a herculean effort, and his unique personality endears him to plenty of the Capitol's children. However, one night as he sleeps, he is stepped on by one of the heaviest tributes, effectively ending his time in the Games. In his honor, the Capitol creates a line of plush figures that come in different colors.

6 Abu

Adventurous and daring, the monkey thief treats the Games exactly like that, games. He plays numerous pranks on the other tributes, never intending to actually harm them, but actually doing so more than a couple of times. The audience mistakes his impish nature for real carnage, and he quickly becomes the favorite to win.

Once Abu discovers the very latent threats of the Games, he immediately wants out. He obviously can't, and his luck quickly changes when the Gamemakers trick him into eating a poisonous banquet. The poor monkey is dead within the hour.

5 Sebastian

"You want something done, you've got to do it yourself." Sebastian's motto takes him past the middle point of the competition. Strict, determined, and with a firm commitment to duty, the crab knows that the sooner he wins the Games, the sooner he can go back to the bottom of the sea and compose a beautiful victory symphony.

His dislike for humans makes him unpopular with audiences, and President Snow himself orders the Gamemakers to get rid of Sebastian, calling him "bad for business." Lured into a river by a supposed mermaid sighting, he is instead trapped in a cave and crushed under falling rocks.

4 Mushu

A small dragon with a very big heart, Mushu astounds nearly everyone with how resourceful and clever he is. Brave and always up for a challenge, Mushu forms an alliance with some of the other tributes, particularly Sebastian and Abu. However, once they're gone, he is left all alone.

He forms a new alliance with a certain winged horse, and everything's going amazingly until the two go for a fly. Distracted by the sheer size of the arena, Mushu is hit by a strong air current and falls to his death. His demise is officially considered an accident.

3 Timon & Pumbaa

Working as a team, Timon & Pumbaa is a pairing that's incredibly tough to beat. After years of looking after each other, these two know exactly how to defend themselves from the numerous threats in the arena. Once Pascal is gone, they become the new stars of the Games, a role they both relish and excel in.

Knowing that there can't be two winners, the Gamemakers decide to spice things up in the final stage of the competition. They separate Timon from Pumbaa and send a pack of hyenas after the two. Pumbaa is the first to go as his condition prevents him from running fast. Timon manages to hide for a long time, before finally being found.

2 Pegasus

Just like his Greek Mythology counterpart, Pegasus is pretty much immortal. He is made out of clouds, which means he is literally powered by Zeus' own force. Try as they might, the Gamemakers can't seem to get rid of the winged horse, and the only other tribute left has neither the will nor the ability to do so either.

When the Gamemakers try to bring Pegasus down by chopping off its wings, furious lightning falls from the sky and into the arena, killing all the Peacekeepers around the horse. Panem's citizens understand this to be a warning from Zeus himself and allow the horse to be declared one of the winners of the Games.

1 Olaf

Another immortal being, Olaf can't seem to die either. He falls apart and pulls himself back together with surprising ease. He also doesn't melt, no matter how intense the sunshine is, or how close he is to the fire. He doesn't have a skull or bones. He can be impaled, yet he still lives.

Faced with another creature that just won't die, the Gamemakers finally give up and also declare Olaf the winner of the Games. Little do they know that in the faraway Kingdom of Arendelle lives a young Queen named Elsa. When her life comes to an end, so will Olaf's. Panem's citizens will think that the snowman simply disappeared, but the truth will be far sadder.
