The fans are already in love with RuPaul's Drag Race UK season 2 star Bimini Bon Boulash. It's a new year for the Drag Race universe, and more seasons, spin-offs, and international editions are scheduled to air in 2021 than ever before. This "Ru year" was kicked off with Drag Race season 13 premiering on VH1 on January 1. The second season of Drag Race UK then came out just two weeks later, airing on the BBC in the UK and on WOW Presents Plus in the US and around the world.
But the Drag Race franchise is expected to expand even further than these two initial seasons currently airing in 2021. As an example, the fans are definitely expecting that RuPaul's Drag Race: All Stars 6 will premiere right after the ending of season 13. The expectation is for VH1 to broadcast All Stars 6 around the month of April. Elsewhere in the world, international editions of the series are also currently in the works. Drag Race Spain and RuPaul's Drag Race: Down Under is already in the making, and Canada's Drag Race just started casting for season 2.
Cutting through the noise on RuPaul's Drag Race UK is Bimini Bon Boulash, who is 26 years old, identifies as nonbinary, and uses they/them pronouns. Bimini is originally from Norfolk, but they currently live in London. This queen's two biggest inspirations are Pamela Anderson and Vivienne Westwood. They have been vegan for seven years and have a college degree in journalism. On the show, Bimini is looking forward to comedy and dancing challenges, but they don't think they are particularly good at singing. With that said, this queen only started doing drag 18 months prior to getting cast on the show, so they are definitely just getting started.
No one knows how Bimini Bon Boulash will actually do on Drag Race UK, but they have already overcome a few obstacles. For instance, Bimini landed in the Bottom 2 during the first episode and had to win a lip sync against Joe Black, who is a legendary queen in the United Kingdom. Thankfully, Bimini was able to pull through and delivered a great performance in Rats: The Rusical, making a great second impression on the judges.
RuPaul will crown the UK's Next Drag Race Superstar this year. The fans can start picking their favorites and keep tuning in to find out how well they will actually do!
RuPaul's Drag Race UK season 2 airs Thursdays at 11am PT / 2pm ET on WOW Presents Plus in the US and select territories worldwide, day-and-date with its airing on BBC iPlayer in the UK.
