Bachelor Nation was shook when a barrage of hateful tweets from Taylor Nolan’s past recently resurfaced. The former contestant on The Bachelor has been under heavy fire ever since. Taylor has apologized for her insensitive tweets, but the fallout for her isn’t over yet. She is facing the repercussions for her actions which may put her career in mental health in jeopardy. Taylor may soon be under investigation by the Washington State Department of Health.
Fans called Taylor a hypocrite after dozens and dozens of tweets from her past were rediscovered online. She has long been an advocate for the BIPOC community both in and out of The Bachelor franchise, but Taylor’s old tweets paint a different picture of her. Taylor spewed repugnant insults at just about every community imaginable—Asian, women, LGBTQ, overweight, Jewish and Black—to name a few. Outrage from fans came quickly, but now Taylor could be facing more damaging consequences as well.
Taylor is a mental health counselor licensed in Washington and, according to Page Six, news of her horrible tweets and fans’ indignation have reached the DOH. Taylor has apologized multiple times for the tweets, but fans are still calling for her license to be revoked. “This week, we’ve received multiple complaints against Nolan in connection with the issues you mentioned,” DOH spokesperson Gordon MacCracken commented to the news outlet. “Those complaints are under assessment. Patient safety is our top priority, and we take all complaints seriously.”
The Washington State DOH is investigating the many complaints they’ve received about Taylor, but noted that “not all complaints lead to us opening cases.” Each complaint will be investigated individually, though even if an investigation is opened, it “may or may not” result in charges. The inquiry is still in its early stages, but if charges are filed, they could result in “license suspension or revocation.” Taylor reportedly has “no previous disciplinary history,” but her old tweets are bad enough that a previously clean record might not save her.
Taylor has faced outrage from fans and fellow members of Bachelor Nation, but she may now have to face real-world consequences as well. Current and past actions and comments are under close scrutiny for members of The Bachelor franchise. While many Bachelor alum come under fire for the things they do or say, Taylor’s current situation is a reminder that there can be more serious repercussions than just fan criticism.
