Another new Godzilla vs. Kong poster has been released, showing the Titans about to battle. One of 2021's most anticipated movies is now just 15 days away from release in North America. Since the trailer debut in late January, Legendary and Warner Bros. have been pushing marketing. Several posters have been released, including a Chinese one depicting the characters' fight underwater.
Before January, MonsterVerse fans were left in the cold when it came to Godzilla vs. Kong news. Aside from banners and toy leaks, the movie's story was something of a mystery. But once marketing kicked in, there's been a flood of trailers and posters for the film. As Godzilla vs Kong advertising saturates social media, some worry too much is being revealed. Whether or not that's the case, it's undoubtedly good Legendary has drummed up hype not just within the fanbase but the general public as well. A collision of the world's most iconic monsters should be an exciting watch, and everything is pointing to it being one of the biggest spectacles Hollywood has ever put out. The latest trailer asks which Titan will bow first.
North America, China, and Korea have all released Godzilla vs. Kong posters over the last two months. Now, Godzilla's home country has joined in with a Japanese poster for Godzilla vs. Kong. Check it out below.
In some ways, the Japanese poster could be the most striking of all. The monsters look imposing against the colorful city backdrop. This is also the first poster to show the cast of human characters. Appropriately, the Twitter message translates to "The most spectacular battle in movie history begins now." Sadly, Japan will get Godzilla vs. Kong a little later after March. The film will release in Japanese theaters on May 14.
Every Godzilla movie in the MonsterVerse has seen a notable city ravaged by kaiju. In 2014's Godzilla, San Fransisco was destroyed during the reptile's battle with the MUTOs. In Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Boston was the unfortunate recipient of Godzilla's duel with King Ghidorah. In Godzilla vs. Kong, the two beasts will take their fight to neon-lit Hong Kong. Although sad for the human characters in-universe, it'll be a treat for moviegoers seeing the Titans collide as buildings crumble from their sheer strength. No matter the victor, the audience should be the biggest winner of all after seeing what looks to be an incredible match.
