GTA V's Franklin & Lamar Actors React To Their Own Performances

The actors for Grand Theft Auto V's Franklin and Lamar, Shawn Fonteno and Slink Johnson respectively, have done a video where they react to various scenes from the game's story and share some insight into the creation of the game. Franklin and Lamar are just two of the iconic characters which help the game stand out just as much as its expansive open world and extensive multiplayer offerings.

The two actors previously recreated their incredibly viral Grand Theft Auto V scene in real-life, wherein Lamar insults Franklin's style and haircut, suggesting it's one of the reasons why his ex doesn't want him. This has been a scene that has been memed to death, thanks in no small part to the game's modding community. People have replaced Lamar with characters like Kratos, Spongebob, and many more; if there's a famous character, they've probably been modded into the scene. Needless to say, the two actors have a lot of fondness for their time on Grand Theft Auto V and try to showcase it whenever they can.

YouTube channel Gameology brought the two actors on to react to various scenes from Grand Theft Auto V and almost right off the bat, the video got pretty chaotic. Fonteno commented on a pedestrian being "thick" within the opening scene of the game and the two began ragging on the way each other's characters look. After that, the two start talking about the iconic scene in Franklin's front yard, and how Slink had improvised it in a variety of ways before Rockstar landed on the one in GTA V.  Fonteno noted how he appreciated the scene going viral, as it keeps the actors relevant.

Later in the video, Fonteno spoke about Trevor actor Steven Ogg, suggesting that he may have been method acting on the set. "Y'all don't understand how stinky his a-- was, he was constantly passing gas. He couldn't fu--ing stop. He wore panties, real little panties, and colorful socks. Like, what the f--k's wrong with you, bro?" It's clear that the set of Grand Theft Auto V was a bit weird, but a lot of fun. Fonteno also shared stories of the real dog that stood-in for Chop and suggested that the voice actors should be eligible for Oscars, an award which is only given to films.

Fonteno has always been active in the GTA community, suggesting that fans be patient for GTA 6 instead of hounding Rockstar for news. Whether or not Fonteno will reappear in the game is unclear, but he's the only surviving protagonist in all endings of the game so it's certainly possible. There's currently no word as to when Rockstar will debut the brand-new open-world crime game, but many are hoping that it'll be sooner rather than later given Grand Theft Auto V is steadily approaching 10 years old. Rockstar will release a new version of that game later this year, hopefully to tide fans over.
