10 Strangest Romances In Doctor Strange Comics, Ranked

When it comes to magic in Marvel Comics, few beings come close to Doctor Strange. He is the Sorcerer Supreme, after all, and that's not just a pretty title. The good doctor is powerful, skilled, and borderline fearless. He'd have to be considering the various multidimensional evil beings he's constantly expected to face week after week.

But, there have been more than a few odd romances that have popped up in the pages of his comics. For some reason, being a sorcerer seems to attract an interesting assortment of romantic partners, both for Doctor Strange and the people he hangs out with.

10 Doctor Strange And Dead Girl Almost Had A Thing

X-Statix remains one of the most unique and interesting X-Men teams in the history of Marvel Comics, and that's not just because of Doop. Their origin story combined with the team members' crazy powers made them fan favorites.

One adventure saw Doctor Strange call in X-Statix's Dead Girl whose mutant abilities were triggered by her death. They had a brief but exceptionally awkward romance that pretty much just lasted the length of their mission.

9 Marjorie Brink Was Strange's Ex And An Immortal

Being a superhero and mage lends itself to meeting some very odd people. Even before Stephen Strange became the Sorcerer Supreme, he found himself attracted to unconventional women.

In medical school, he met someone named Marjorie Brink whom he ended up dating, but what Strange eventually found out was that she was immortal. It was an odd twist in the love life of a man would become a super cool wizard hero.

8 Doctor Strange Straight Up Forgot About Amanda Payne

Like most heroes, Doctor Strange has gone through some rough times. That includes being replaced by imposters who tried to take over his life. After one such incident, Doctor Strange went home to Nebraska to recuperate.

While there, he reconnected with a friend from his childhood named Amanda Payne. There was nothing particularly weird about the relationship other than the fact that Strange got distracted by Baron Mordo, left, and never mentioned her again.

7 Wong Falls For Sara Wolfe

Doctor Strange wasn't the only person in his sphere of friends who got involved in some odd romances. His friend, confidante, and closest ally, Wong, has been part of some strange flings over the years.

This specific situation started when Sara Wolfe moved into the neighborhood and became friends with Doctor Strange. She and Wong began to develop feelings for each other, but Wong cut things off before it went too far. This made it awkward for everyone.

6 Victoria Bentley Bailed On Strange For The Black Knight

An early romance for Doctor Strange was Victoria Bentley—well, it was romantic for her. Strange barely seemed to pay any attention to her at all, which was too bad as she had an affinity for magic and could have been a good match for him.

Victoria eventually got tired of being ignored and started dating Dane Whitman, aka the Black Knight. She would accidentally die at the Knight's Ebony Blade when someone else was wielding it. Bentley may have been better off with Strange.

5 Madeleine De St. Germain Ended Up In A Bad Situation

When Doctor Strange first met Madeline, he was in medical school and was quite the player. They went their separate ways, and she eventually got married, taking the last name de St. Germain.

They would cross paths years later when Strange was almost tricked into using Madeline as a blood sacrifice. That's not how most exes would like to reconnect, but it's how things often go down in Doctor Strange's world.

4 Clea Was Possibly Doctor Strange's Greatest Love

Even someone as powerful as Doctor Strange as a soulmate. In his case, the most likely candidate was and is Clea. A resident of the Dark Dimension, Clea spent a number of years as Strange's protégé and his significant other.

Unfortunately, Clea keeps getting called back to the Dark Dimension, preventing them from maintaining a serious relationship in the long term. Long-distance relationships are doable, but we're not so sure the same could be said about cross-dimensional ones.

3 The Night Nurse Is A Healer Of The Heart And The Body

Over the years in Marvel Comics, there have been multiple characters who have assumed the name Night Nurse, but the one closest to Doctor Strange's heart was Linda Carter.

After working together, Linda moved her Night Nurse operation into Strange's Sanctum Sanctorum. They briefly dated during that time, but the whole thing came to an end far too quickly.

2 Morgana Blessing's History With Doctor Strange Spans Lifetimes

A big reason why Clea and Doctor Strange didn't work out was due to a woman named Morgana Blessing. No, Stephen didn't cheat on Clea with her, though in Clea's mind the reality was much, much worse.

Apparently, Morgana and Stephen had been romantically connected in several previous lifetimes. In mystical circles, that's pretty important and was a massive deal-breaker for Clea.

1 Martha Was The One Who Got Away, Then Resurrected

When Doctor Strange was a grad student, he fell madly in love with his supervisor, Martha. They broke up, and Martha ended up getting married and having kids. She later died of ovarian cancer.

Doctor Strange never got over her death and found a way to resurrect her many years later. She still ultimately left him. Strange eventually used his power to erased many events, including her resurrection, so none of that ever happened. At least they won't awkwardly run into each other any time soon.
