New content has been made available as part of the Whack-A-Mole update in Dead Cells. This guide will show players every new weapon to come from this new update. Dead Cells has been a massive hit for indie titles. For fans of the Demon Souls and Dark Souls of the world, players will be able to explore new areas until they die. With each new attempt, players will learn the level layouts and become better at navigating them. The game is incredibly unforgiving but also very rewarding for breaking down those more challenging sections. Even though the base game release back in 2018, the game continues to receive new content updates. Here are all of the new weapons as part of the Whack-A-Mole update.
Outside of new weapons, they can receive new quality-of-life improvements to keep things interesting and balanced. The developers mention in their initial Steam post that the difficulty curve wasn't where they wanted it to be so they went back and make some changes. These changes include how often health refills at fountains make the game a bit easier on casual players. Outside of that, the UI has been improved and tons of bug fixes have been implemented. Although, the most significant piece of content is the new set of weapons that players can use. Here are all the new weapons in Dead Cells from the new Whack-A-Mole update.
There are 3 new weapons for players to collect. They are all one-slot and focus on knocking enemies back until they die. Here is all the new weapon content.
- Oven Axe: This is a massive ax and the final hit can be changed to a relentless swing.
- Toothpick: Players can swing this weapon fast or charge it for a powerful overhead attack.
- Tombstone: This weapon is literally sending enemies to their graves. This will also Doom enemies, leaving a tombstone over their head after they are hit.
The developers behind Dead Cells continue to add new content for its long-time players. The game is available on almost every major platform and is regarded as one of the best indie titles in the last generation. Even outside of indie content, Dead Cells has been called one of the best games of the last generation period. The Whack-a-Mole update is a sign that they have no sign of slowing down. It will be an interesting thing to see major content will come next.
Dead Cells is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, and Mobile.
