Amazon Prime's latest hit, Invincible, is a definite must-watch for any diehard superhero fans. Based on a graphic novel series written by The Walking Dead’s own Robert Kirkman, Invincible tells the story of Mark Grayson, his rise to superhero-dom, and balancing the life of a not-so-average teenager and saving the world.
An action-packed, animated adventure full of heroes, villains, and even a few aliens, Invincible has it all – including a star-studded cast. Boasting celebrity voice actors such as Steven Yeun, Sandra Oh, J.K. Simmons, and even Star Wars alum Mark Hamill, the show not only has a wide array of talent but many complex and fascinating characters.
10 Amber Bennet
Amber Bennet (Zazie Beetz) is a friend and love interest of Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun) introduced in the first episode, but she is far from bound by the title of Mark's on and off girlfriend.
A strong, compassionate woman, Amber has no problem taking care of herself when it comes to harassment and school bullies. She doesn't need Mark, she wants him. Though she doesn't judge him for his heroic activities, she doesn't idolize him for them either. She has firm, healthy boundaries - superhero boyfriend or not.
9 Robot (Rudolph Conners)
Invincible season 1 has done an excellent job peeling back the layers - or the metal - of Robot (Zachary Quinto). The highly intelligent new Guardians of the Globe leader - also known as Rudy Conners - has a genius-level intellect, specifically when it comes to mechanical engineering.
Recently revealed to be a human controlling his robotic body from afar, his romantic feelings for Monster Girl (Grey Griffin) led to him successfully clone himself with the help of the Mauler Twins (Kevin Michael Richardson).
8 Allen The Alien
Allen the Alien (Seth Rogen) is a Unopan, and an evaluation officer for the Coalition of Planets. Armed with incredible strength, speed, and telepathy, his job is to verify that planets have a super-powered individual capable of properly defending them.
Originally introduced by viciously attacking Invincible when he mistakes Earth for the planet Urath, Allen is quickly shown to be reasonable, humorous, and well-meaning.
7 Amanda (Monster Girl)
Sassy, headstrong, and unafraid to go toe-to-toe with Rex Splode, Amanda, AKA Monster Girl is a valued member of the new Guardians of the Globe.
Cursed with the ability to turn into a monstrous troll-like creature with superhuman strength, she uses her terrifying abilities for good. Unfortunately, using this power results in reverse-aging. She gets younger every time that she uses it, which forced her to change her name from Monster Woman to Monster Girl.
6 Titan
A villain previously working with Machine Head, Titan (Mahershala Ali) proves that even if characters take a villainous route, it does not necessarily mean that they are motivated by evil. A loving father, desperate to make a good life for his wife and his daughter, Titan asks Invincible for his help, telling him that he wants to make the city better.
Titan's abilities include being able to encase himself in rock armor, resulting in superhuman strength and durability.
5 Nolan Grayson (Omni-Man)
Nolan Grayson is one of the most famous superheroes in the world, and a devoted husband and father. A Viltromite, he has very few known weaknesses, and his powers of durability and healing make him nearly indestructible.
He was once a member of the Guardians of the Globe until he shockingly and brutally slaughtered them at the end of the show's first episode. Suspected of the murders by Cecil Stedman, Damien Darkblood, and even his own wife, it is unclear what made Nolan lash out on his friends and fellow heroes, or if Omni-Man is to be trusted or feared.
4 Samantha Eve Wilkins (Atom Eve)
Samantha Eve Wilkins is a prior member of the Teen Team and the new Guardians of the Globe. Known by her superhero name Atom Eve, she has the powers of controlling matter at a subatomic level.
Eve is kindhearted and wants to make the world a better place. Exhausted from the violence of being a superhero battling villains, she realizes that she could do so much more good in the world by traveling the globe and simply helping those in need.
3 Mark Grayson (Invincible)
Mark Grayson was an average, everyday high schooler - except for the fact that his dad was Omni-Man, and he was awaiting the arrival of his own superpowers. Despite being half-human and half-Viltromite, Mark's character resonates firstly as a real person with real problems.
He means well, but he has a lot to learn, and sometimes he royally messes up - whether it is with friendships, relationships, or fighting bad guys. Still, Mark eagerly dives into the life of a superhero, wanting nothing more than to save the world.
2 Damien Darkblood
In this fantastical universe, it is hard to outshine the superheroes, supervillains, aliens, and curses, but a broody, demon-detective definitely takes the cake. One of the most fascinating characters in the show, Damien Darkblood (Clancy Brown), escaped from Hell and was biding his time on earth as a member of the Global Defense Agency, helping bring criminals to justice.
Extremely suspicious and critical of Nolan after the mysterious murders of the Guardians of the Globe, he is part of the reason that Debbie Grayson started to wonder about Nolan's possible involvement.
1 Debbie Grayson
The matriarch of the Grayson family, Debbie (Sandra Oh) is possibly one of the best examples of a superhero mother on television. Strong, clever, and endlessly loving, she not only supports her superpowered family, but she challenges them at every turn.
It doesn't matter that her husband is the most famous superhero in the world. She won't let him get away with things, and she is unafraid to question him when she thinks that he is making the wrong decision. Nolan and Mark may be practically invincible, but Debbie is undoubtedly the rock of the Grayson family.
