Fans of The Challenge: Double Agents should brace themselves for the beginning of the end, as the rollercoaster season 36 will end on April 14. Wednesday’s April 7 episode is called “True Lies.” It will be the last episode before the April 14 finale. Viewers are looking forward to "True Lies" and they're also very excited about the final episode.
As viewers look ahead to the last episodes, they mourn the elimination of Tula "Big T" Fazakerley. Early in the season, she slinked into the hearts of The Challenge: Double Agents fans as the partner of Chris “CT” Tamburello. CT has an estimated net worth of $400,000 thanks to his entertainment industry career. Tula and CT were an incongruous pair that viewers didn’t know they needed. Before her crushing defeat, Big T told the cameras she’d be keeping CT’s teachings in mind as she headed into the Hall Brawl elimination.
In the end, it was rookie Amber Borzotra’s previous experience in the Hall that led to Big T’s downfall. This elimination stung, considering the fact that Big T was coming off a big elimination win against veteran Aneesa Ferreira the previous week. Now, there are nine players in the running for the big cash prize. They are Amber B., Cory Wharton (who is dating Taylor Selfridge), CT, Fessy Shafaat, Kam Williams, Kaycee Clark, Kyle Christie, Leroy Garrett, and Nany González.
The Challenge has come a long way from the summer camp-like challenges pitting Road Rules and The Real World castmates against each other in the late '90s and early 2000s. That evolution is evident in season 36, which some viewers consider the best season ever. The latest episode featured mission Global Domination, in which each paired team rolled around in a life-sized mesh sphere, looking for landmine-like targets to hit. A successful hit erupted in a plume of smoke. In this week’s upcoming episode, host TJ Lavin informed players that their partners were trapped in a frozen Icelandic volcano. This is a far cry from the early seasons when host Dave Mirra had the contestants doing push-ups on the beach.
Nonetheless, part of the draw of The Challenge is the regular callbacks to its early seasons, not to mention the return of fan favorites. The evolution from beach games to rescue missions in a frozen volcano is an arc unmatched in reality TV. As The Challenge: Double Agents final gets closer, many fans think the season is the most entertaining yet. Viewers can expect more plumes of smoke, chains, locked boxes, races in the unforgiving cold, and dramatic music. With CT now a rogue agent and safe, he essentially secured his spot as a contender in the finale. What happens to the remaining agents will soon be revealed, with the finale, "No Time To Die," which is scheduled for April 14.
