Wolverine Reveals His Most Surprising Skill | Screen Rant

Spoilers for Power Pack #5 ahead!

Wolverine is well known as one of the deadliest mutants in the Marvel Universe, but in Power Pack #5, he reveals perhaps his most surprising skill - he can sew! And it is a good thing too, as Power Pack needs new uniforms before their final battle with the Wizard.

In previous issues, Power Pack has found themselves needing an adult mentor, thanks to the events of Outlawed and the passage of “Kamala’s Law,” which requires all underage heroes to have an overseer or face consequences. Their previous mentor, Agent Aether, turned out to be the classic Fantastic Four villain the Wizard in disguise; he was hoping to harness the kid’s powers to his own ends. Now needing a mentor not only to continue their heroic careers but to prepare for the final battle with the Wizard, Wolverine enters the scene. He showed up at the Power family’s apartment in the previous issue, claiming to be a “tutor” for the kids; he agreed to be their mentor, and now Power Pack is learning there is more to their new mentor than meets the eye.

In the latest issue - written by Ryan North with art by Nico Leon and colors by Rachelle Rosenberg - Alex and Julie, the older of the Power siblings, are picking up Jack and Katie from school. They talk about a “climactic showdown” that is coming and talk about kicking someone’s “sucky butt.” It is revealed that whatever they are doing, Alex, Julie, and Wolverine spent the night before planning it. Alex praises Wolverine’s stealth abilities, as well as his fighting skills, but then he reveals that Wolverine possesses another, more surprising skill: he can sew! Power Pack has needed new uniforms, and Wolverine was able to sew them new ones in a pinch!

Wolverine is a multi-faceted character, and the revelations about him never seem to stop; the idea he can sew really well is hilarious, but considering how long Wolverine has been alive, and all the situations he has been in and seen, it would be more surprising if he did not know how to sew and patch up a uniform. Plus, Wolverine has played mentor to a number of young heroes over the years, including Kitty Pryde, and helping Power Pack out of a jam is totally in character for him.

Wolverine is full of surprises, and in Power Pack #5, readers learn that on top of the claws, the adamantium skeleton, and false memories, he can sew as well. Power Pack #5 is available now.
