A new image reveals Carter Jenkins as Robert in the upcoming film After We Fell. The film will be the third in a series that follows a college girl and her whirlwind romance with a mysterious stranger. Tessa, played by Josephine Langford, must contend with her newfound attraction to a bad boy Hardin, played by Hero Fiennes Tiffin, while still in a long-distance relationship with her high school boyfriend Noah, played by Dylan Arnold. The films are based on a book series initially published as a Wattpad fanfiction based loosely on the band One Direction.
The After films are extremely popular with some fans but overall panned by critics. The first film, After, won best drama film at both the Teen Choice Awards and the E! People's choice awards. After We Collided, the second film, didn't do quite as well as its predecessor but still did well enough in the box office to warrant third and fourth films, which will be called After We Fell and After Ever Happy. The films were greenlit for back-to-back production, with After We Fell set to premiere in October of 2021.

With a lot of speculation surrounding the two films, the Twitter account for the After series has been slowly releasing new information, including a fresh look at Carter Jenkins as a new character named Robert. From the picture, it's evident that Robert, like most of the cast, is an attractive 20-something. He has dark brown hair and stubble on his face but looks clean-cut in what appears to be a uniform.
For those who have just seen the movies, not much is known about the mysterious new character. However, for those who have read the books, Robert promises to be another complication in the already tangled relationship between Tessa and Hardin. While the two don't display the healthiest of relationships, the movies are certainly fun to watch if viewers go into it with the right expectations. Many have compared the series to Fifty Shades of Grey, which isn't entirely unfair. They are both sex-filled romances that started as fan fiction, but After is certainly tamer than Fifty Shades with a fanbase of teenage girls and a PG-13 rating.
For those who are diehards for #Hessa (the couple name given to Hardin and Tessa), the wait will not be too long before the third and fourth movies hit theaters and streaming services. In the meantime, the After Twitter frequently updates and releases sneak peeks of After We Fell, and there's always the After We Fell and After Ever Happy books to read if you can't wait for the movie releases.
