Call of Duty May Be Adding Die Hard's John McClane & The Terminator

Well known military shooter Call of Duty may soon add new '80s action heroes; namely Die Hard's John McClane and The Terminator. Several teases for iconic action heroes have begun popping up all over the web, both from official Call of Duty sources and popular leakers in the community. These two rumored heroes aren't the only ones suspected of joining the fray, though.

Sylvester Stallone's iconic veteran hero, Rambo, is rumored for Call of Duty as well. Although nothing has been confirmed, the official Twitter account for Call of Duty began following people with the last name Trautman, which hints at Colonel Sam Trautman from the Rambo films. It would seem that Activision will be leaning into the 1980s theme very soon by adding more action stars.

The official Twitter account for Call of Duty recently tweeted a link to a website called Nakatomi Duct Cleaning, a reference to the iconic scene wherein John McClane crawls through the airducts of Nakatomi Plaza in Die Hard. Fans can "schedule an appointment" by clicking a button, which opens their email. So far, nothing has come back when Screen Rant tried to email the address. Reputable leaker Tom Henderson also teased the inclusion of The Terminator, though nothing has been officially teased or confirmed regarding that.

Call of Duty previously featured Jigsaw from the Saw franchise and Leatherface from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre back in October, but they were notably just skins for other operators, so there was no unique voice over. It's likely that will be the case for these three new '80s icons as well. There's no word on to when to expect these skins, though it seems likely it'll be later this month. There are no particularly timely reasons for these skins, unlike the aforementioned Halloween skins, but nonetheless, it's nice to see Activision embracing pop culture in a fun way.

Rambo and The Terminator have both appeared in Mortal Kombat as guest fighters, with Stallone voicing the former, so it's not their first rodeo in the gaming world. It's likely that these skins are being released for Warzone's new 1984 makeover, but Die Hard didn't actually release until 1988. Of course, it's just a battle royale game, and Activision likely doesn't care that much about obsessing over the continuity. Whether or not these skins will be available for a limited time remains to be seen, but it's possible Activision is planning a big event that would welcome these characters into Call of Duty.
