Living up to its namesake, CW's popular sci-fi mysteries The 100 lasted exactly 100 episodes from 2014 to 2020. Created by Jason Rothenberg, the show imagines a dystopian future marred by a nuclear holocaust that forces human survivors to live on an enormous spaceship. When 100 of the most troubled juveniles are sent back to Earth to repopulate the planet, they run into a series of power-hungry adversaries.
Each season of the show typically features a new villain (or group of villains) for the main characters to face off with, many of which differ in terms of personality. Here are the lamest and coolest of the lot.
9 Bill Cadogan
Cult leaders are as lame as they get. They feign coolness in order to brainwash their malleable charges and increase their own self-serving power. In the case of Season 7 villain Bill Cadogan, his fanatical, self-centered, and hard-headed personality is the opposite of cool.
Bill's callous disregard for lost human life in the nuclear holocaust underscores his unsympathetic nature, and his lack of fighting ability proves how lame he truly is.
8 A.L.I.E
As a stolid and emotionally vacant robotic A.I. interface, A.L.I.E. probably doesn't even know what a cool personality entails. The cold, ruthless, and tyrannical entity created by Becca Franko is responsible for creating the nuclear cataclysm that devastated Earth 97 years ago. Not cool.
The main Season 3 villain further demonstrates her uncool nature by physically and emotionally tormenting those who obey her orders. It's her lack of relatable qualities and the inability to comprehend the human condition that makes the sentient bot such a lame villain.
7 Paxton McCreary
As the chief antagonist of Season 5, Paxton McCreary is a ruthless cold-blooded serial killer with few redeeming qualities. His detached demeanor slightly atoned for when sparing Diyoza's life after learning she was pregnant.
With a shoot first, ask questions later philosophy, Paxton also does not really pose much of a threat. The only thing that makes Paxton cool is his protective nature of his unborn daughter.
6 Josephine & Russell Lightbourne
Josephine Lightbourne and her husband Russell served as the chief villains in The 100 Season 6. Despite their wicked partnership, their personalities tend to differ. Josephine is a nasty elitist and hate-filled supremacist fighting for the cause of Nightblood and Prime.
On the other hand, Russell presents himself as a benevolent and charismatic leader who often shows signs of kindness. Although he became violent and corrupt along the way, Russell created Sanctum as a way to foster a peaceful community. As a deadly duo, the two rank on the lamer side of The 100 villains.
5 Charmaine Diyoza
While a bit cold and distant, Charmaine Diyoza's alpha personality and constant sarcastic barbs make her one of the cooler villains on The 100. With brimming confidence and capability, Diyoza is a natural-born leader who criminals inherently gravitate towards.
In addition to her cool appearance, Diyoza's love for her daughter Hope gives her well-rounded dimensionality some of the lamer villains simply lack. Moreover, Diyoza saves her daughter Hope's soul and prevents her from causing another nuclear cataclysm.
4 Charles Pike
Charles Pike is one cool, calm, and collected villain, who is also pretty imposing physically. His rigid pragmatism and businesslike approach make Pike a domineering leader who commands the utmost respect.
Pike's natural toughness and raw magnetism allow him to protect his kind long enough to fend off 300 Grounders. Later, Pike's intelligence and leadership skills allow him to garner enough votes to become the local chancellor.
3 Sheidheda
Wearing a dark hood, eye patch, and grisly facial scars instantly makes you one of the coolest villains around. Such is the case with Sheidheda, the main enemy who assumes Russell Lightborn's visage in Season 7.
Sheidheda is a shapeshifting demonic force of evil who hasn't a single remorseful feeling. He forces his victims to kneel or die in his presence and is hell-bent on shedding as much blood as possible in his quest for universal dominance. Sheidheda's love of playing chess gives a human quality that underscores how cool he is under pressure.
2 Octavia Blake
As one of the main characters to appear in all seven seasons, Octavia Blake has functioned as a hero and villain at various points in the series. No matter what side of the ledger she's on, her fierce independence, rebellious demeanor, and overall bravery make her one of the coolest.
As the Wonkru leader, Octavia doesn't suffer fools easily and tends to end disputes in an abrupt manner. That is, she doesn't waffle or become emotionally hung-up, she acts swiftly with cold hard logic. Octavia is simply one of the most compelling characters on the show.
1 Cage Wallace
With a mordant sense of humor voiced even in the most inappropriate of times, The Mountain Men's Cage Wallace is the single coolest villain from The 100. His observations and snide remarks in the face of grave danger make him more relatable than most.
When Cage isn't cracking jokes, he constantly insists on making those around him cotton to his worldview, which makes him even funnier. Never one to sugarcoat the truth, Wallace boasts such comedic matter-0f-fact lines as "We need their bone marrow!" and "our legacy? We've been bleeding people for generations to stay alive. That's our legacy!"
