Courtney Veale will be joining Below Deck Med season six on June 28 as the new third stew, and we're ready to share information about her background. Last year, Jessica More was season five's third stew, and she worked closely with Hannah Ferrier, Bugsy Drake, and Aesha Scott. However, halfway through the season, Hannah was fired. This happened after bosun Malia White found unregistered Valium and a vape pen in their shared cabin. Malia will be reprising her role as the bosun for season six, alongside Courtney and the six other new crew members.
During Below Deck Med season six, the crew will be heading down to Croatia aboard the 180-foot megayacht, Lady Michelle. Captain Sandy Yawn will be returning for her fifth season, with newcomers Chef Mathew Shea, chief stew Katie Flood, second stew Lexi Wilson, and deckhands David Pascoe, Mzi “Zee” Dempers, and Lloyd Spencer. Courtney will be working closely with fellow newbies Katie and Lexi as part of the interior team.
Courtney grew up in North Wales and spent most of her childhood enjoying her town's beautiful lakes and mountains. Once she graduated from a performing arts college, she traveled instead of pursuing a full-time career. She lived all over the world, taking odd jobs here and there. She was a ski resort representative, a bartender, a paper delivery girl, a nanny, and a Disneyland Paris performer. By the end of her travels, Courtney ended up in Australia (where the upcoming Below Deck Australia is set). While there, she began working on several small boats as a deckhand and a stew. After getting offered her first job on a yacht in the South of France, Courtney knew that she had found her calling in life. Since then, Courtney has worked on yachts in a number of interesting places, including The Maldives, The Bahamas, St. Thomas, Croatia, and more (via her @courtneyveale Instagram).
With her cheerful personality and can-do attitude, Courtney realized that the yachting industry was right up her alley. Now that Courtney is a part of Below Deck Med season six, the North Wales native is motivated to make progress on the job while still having fun with her crew members. In the trailer for the new season, which dropped on May 27, Courtney is seen getting quite handsy with deckhand Zee. Even though Courtney gets a little too friendly with one of the crew members, she isn't threatening to leave the vessel like her fellow stew Lexi is.
Fans might miss the cast of last season's Below Deck Med. However, one of the seven new crew members will presumably make a lasting impression on them. Courtney is already giving the viewers Aesha vibes, and will likely be loved by not only the crew but the fans as well. Judging by the trailer, Courtney brings a sunny disposition to the season and will likely be the new fan favorite.
