The Alldredge family of Seeking Sister Wife took to Facebook to let their fans know they have decided to end their marriage with third wife, Donna. The family appeared on seasons one and two of the show, but decided against sharing their lives in season three. In a lengthy Facebook post, one of the wives Sharis updated fans on their lives and gave some insight into why they chose not to return for season three. The reasoning she gave was that they did not like the direction the show was going in and didn't feel like it matched the direction they were trying to take as a family. According to her, many fans are also not happy with the new direction of the show, claiming it is now more focused on sex than before.
Sharis also gave updates about Donna and her daughter Evelyn, the newest additions to their family. In July 2020, Jeff Alldredge married Donna and added a new wife into the mix. Because Donna had a daughter, there were some issues with custody once she agreed to be Jeff's third wife. The custody battle took so long that it started to deplete the family's funds, leading Jeff to start a GoFundMe to help pay the legal bills. In the same Facebook post in April 2021, Sharis said she can't say much about the custody case, except that it is still ongoing. She did, however, thank those fans who have sent them prayers and well wishes, as well as financial assistance during this tough time for their family.
In a Facebook post, the Alldredge family announced it decided to end its marriage with Donna. They went on to say that they have been physically separated from Donna since November, and decided to officially end the marriage with a divorce in April. It is clear that this was a hard decision for the family to make. They admittedly did not have the words to start or end the statement but thought it was time fans were made aware of what was going on in their family. They chose not to disclose why they decided to end the marriage at this time but said they do in fact have their reasons. It is clear this decision was not easy to come to, as the statement ended with a sad face emoji.
Fans flooded the comments section with their reactions to the news of their split. Over 100 people have commented on the statement as of now, and all of them are expressing love for the family and sadness over the news. Almost everyone let the family know they don't have to give the fans an explanation as to why the marriage ended, with one commenter saying the family always came across as trustworthy on TV and so they trust that whatever the reason is, it is necessary. One commenter suggested the separation could be due to disapproval from Donna's family and her daughter's family as well. They had to move away, which can be hard on a child, leading this commenter to speculate that these factors put together made it the wrong time for this relationship to thrive. It seems like no one is happy about the end of this marriage.
Now that Donna is no longer going to be in the family, it will be interesting to see if the Alldredge family decides to return to Seeking Sister Wife. Fans expressed how much they have missed watching them on the show and how they think the show has gotten worse without them on it. Now that they are searching for a third sister wife again, the possibility is always there. They have spoken negatively about the direction the show is taking, so the question is, will TLC take them back? Only time will tell.
