New behind the scenes pictures for Titans season 3 reveal fresh peeks at Nightwing and Superboy. The wait for Titans' return has stretched on for longer than expected, but the end is nearly in sight. The onetime DC Universe series concluded season 2 in late 2019, and season 3 was expected to arrive in the fall of 2020. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic delaying the start of production, Titans season 3 won't premiere until this August. Production has been underway since last October, though it is finally entering its final days. This time around, Titans will be available on HBO Max.
For its third season, Titans will introduce a slew of new characters on top of the established cast. Barbara Gordon (Savannah Welch), Scarecrow (Vincent Kartheiser), and Blackfire (Damaris Lewis) will all factor into season 3's story. Additionally, Jason Todd (Curran Walters) is set to undergo a major transformation as he becomes the vigilante Red Hood. All the while, Titans will see its titular team adjust to working together under the leadership of Brenton Thwaites' Dick Grayson, who finally took on the mantle of Nightwing in the season 2 finale.
With all of these major developments on the way, anticipation for Titans season 3 is high. Luckily, director and cinematographer Boris Mojsovski has shared some new pictures from the last days of filming. In addition to revealing peeks at the set, fans are treated to some fun shots of Thwaites in his Nightwing costume and Joshua Orpin as Superboy. Check it out below.
Dick's transition into the Nightwing role was one of Titans season 2's biggest developments, and season 3 will give him the chance to properly settle into his new title. He'll have his hands full with Red Hood and the arrival of old flame Barbara, which just might make his adjustment period a bit tougher. As for Superboy, it isn't quite clear what Titans season 3 has in store for him, but after an eventful introduction in season 2, he can finally chart a new path forward.
With filming on Titans season 3 approaching its end, fans can perhaps expect the first episodes to arrive on HBO Max in late August. The streamer has yet to give a concrete date, likely waiting for production to be completed before doing so. Should the August slot hold firm, official looks at the season can start to arrive in July. In other words, the lengthy wait for more Titans is finally approaching its end. It's time to get excited about what's to come.
