Y: The Last Man Show Premiere Date Set For September

FX's Y: The Last Man series officially set a September premiere date. Based on the post-apocalyptic comic book series by Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra, rumblings of the live-action adaption first hit FX in 2015. The story follows Yorick Brown, the sole survivor in a global androcide that obliterated every cisgendered male mammal from Earth. Ben Schnetzer (The Book Thief) headlines in the titular role alongside Oscar-winner Diane Lane and under the guidance of showrunner Eliza Clark.

After much delay, Y: The Last Man announced their official premiere date as Monday, September 13, 2021. FX Networks took to Twitter to share the exciting news alongside the show's logo.

The date is sooner than expected considering all of the roadblocks the action series has encountered. After sitting in the development pile for years, FX ordered a pilot in 2018. Things came to a halt a year later when the original showrunner stepped down due to creative differences. More dark clouds shrouded the series as PETA put out accusations of animal abuse. Then, to make matters worse, original leading man Barry Keoghan bowed out. After the production-halting year of 2020, Y: The Last Man finally seems to be on a good path. As long as no more obstacles arise, fans can expect to see ten episodes of the FX on Hulu series, with the first two premiering simultaneously. Hopefully, it's worth the wait.
