How Macaulay Culkin Helped Paris Jackson Get American Horror Stories Role

Paris Jackson admitted that her godfather, Macaulay Culkin, helped with her audition for the American Horror Story spinoff titled American Horror Stories. Macaulay Culkin made his mark in the film industry in two installments of the Home Alone series of films and is also a godfather to Paris' siblings Prince Michael and Bigi. Culkin, who worked steadily throughout his childhood and appeared in the movies The Good Son, Richie Rich, The Pagemaster, Party Monster, and Changeland, also appeared in the AHS franchise. He can be seen in American Horror Story: Double Feature in the role of Mickey.

Paris Jackson is the oldest child of Michael Jackson and Debbie Rowe. She is a musician, model, and actress who has appeared in the television series Star and the films Habit, The Space Between, and Sex Appeal. In the anthology spinoff of the hit series, each episode features a different horror tale and cast. Paris stars in "Rubber Wo(man)" as the vindictive Mya, a friend of Scarlett (Sierra McCormick), who is the daughter of Michael Winslow (Matt Bomer) and his partner Troy (Gavin Creel).

In an interview with E! News, Jackson said that due to an NDA, she had no one to discuss her fears about her audition for AHS, except for Culkin, who had to sign a similar piece of paper when he began work on his season of the FX horror series. Culkin told Jackson to go big on her audition.

"They were very, very uptight about the NDAs and things like that. But I did figure, he signed an NDA, he's in the AHS family. I feel like if I could tell anyone, it would be him. He said overdo it at certain points. Kind of like, overact and kind of make it theatrical."

The tight bond between Culkin and Jackson shows how integral a part of her life and her brothers' lives he really is. Culkin was named godfather of Michael Jackson's three children by the singer, whom he met when he was just a child. Culkin and Jackson's bond is an excellent example of how an adult figure's professional and personal guidance can lead to a positive result for a young woman growing into her own as a performer.

Culkin's advice was spot-on as Paris was hired for the role. Shortly after filming her scenes, she revealed to the entertainment outlet that she sent Culkin a photo from the set of her face covered in blood for fun. He, in turn, sent a set snap of blood in his hair. Jackson's episodes of American Horror Stories are currently available to stream on Hulu. Culkin's season of American Horror Story: Double Feature debuts on FX on Wednesday, August 25.
