Kim Kardashian of Keeping Up With the Kardashians fame doesn't want to get rid of the "W" in KKW Beauty, even though she and Kanye West have split. Kim recently announced that her KKW Beauty brand would be undergoing a temporary shutdown ahead of a rebrand and relaunch later this year. Many of her fans speculated that the brand renovation would include a name change i.e. dropping the "W" that stands for the last word in her married name. According to a source, Kim allegedly has a good reason for keeping the "W."
Just because Kim filed for divorce doesn't mean that she and Kanye are no longer friends. Before Kim and Kanye started dating and eventually got married, they were friends for years. Therefore, it's no shocker that they still find common ground after dissolving their nearly seven-year marriage. During the reunion, Kim spoke highly of Kanye and the co-parenting relationship that they now have. Since he moved on with model Irina Shayk, insiders have said that Kim is happy for him. She is taking her time before dating someone else.
A big part of her dating hiatus has to do with all of the business moves she's making while raising her four children. She recently secured a SKIMS partnership with Team USA ahead of the Tokyo Olympics. Now, Kim is set to rebrand KKW Beauty, after signing over her beauty brand to Coty cosmetics last year. She recently announced that the brand would temporarily shut down ahead of a relaunch. Once the brand is refreshed, it will look a lot more like the vision that billionaire Kim always had for the company. Sources tell WWD that the rebrand "has nothing to do" with a company name change.
In fact, Kim is still technically a West because she hasn't changed her name and has no plans to do so anytime soon. "Kim is still Kim Kardashian West and has not changed her legal name," the source said, adding: "The rebrand has been in the works for some time." It turns out that Kanye has actually lent his creative genius to Kim's beauty brand and relaunch. "Kanye actually helped Kim come up with the new name and the packaging," the insider explained. While announcing the relaunch, Kim explained how eager she was for supporters to see the new look and feel of the brand.
Despite how much she promoted it, the company wasn't at the level that Kim envisioned and she wants the relaunch to bring KKW Beauty up to a more modern standard. "Innovative formulas and even the shopping experience of being able to shop all categories in beauty and cosmetics under one brand, one website has always been Kim's vision from the beginning," the source added. "She is incredibly excited about this next phase." Her fans are too.
Her rebrand comes on the heels of Kylie Jenner's relaunch of Kylie Cosmetics. She has been promoting the relaunch on social media and in Los Angeles through huge billboard advertisements. It looks like Kim from Keeping Up With the Kardashians and Kylie are ready to dominate the beauty industry once again.
