The two surviving couples from Love Is Blind are spilling the secrets behind what makes their marriages work, and how they have stayed happy since tying the knot. The show followed six couples as they decided whether or not the other was right for them after an unconventional start to their relationship. Lauren Speed and Cameron Hamilton fell in love almost straight away without laying eyes on each other, and were able to carry that love for each other outside the pods. The main hurdle the couple faced was being an interracial couple. Lauren had never dated a white man before, and was afraid Cameron wouldn't understand what dating a black woman would entail. They were able to work through those issues, however, and decided to get married in the end.
Amber and Barnett, on the other hand, didn't start off on such great footing. While in the pods, Barnett was talking to Amber, but he also made connections with two other women, L.C. and Jessica. Jessica proved to be a problem, as she continued to flirt with Barnett after he chose Amber, despite the fact that she herself was also engaged to another man. In the end, Barnett was able to let Jessica down easy and make Amber feel secure in their relationship, reassuring Amber and himself of his feelings for her. The couple decided to get married at the end of the show, only five months after they initially met while in the pods.
Despite the unusual starts to their relationships, these couples have managed to make it work and are now sharing how. According to The New York Post, it wasn't hard for Amber and Barnett. The two claim they went into the show without any expectations and were extremely lucky to have found each other. They say their similar personalities make it easy for them to be around each other, as they are both laid back and free spirited. Despite some struggles in the first year of marriage, they were able to make it work, by focusing on the good and the love they have for each other. Amber also points out that the show made a way bigger deal about her $20,000 of student loan debt than it truly was. She was able to pay them off on her own within three months of getting married. They actually claim one of the reasons they have been able to make it work is the fact that they keep their finances separate. The couple shared that their biggest argument came when Amber almost burned the fried chicken she was making, which is when they realized how stubborn they both are.
Things also seem to be going well for Lauren and Cameron. The couple reminded their fans that they are just like them, and have their imperfect moments as well. One thing they have had to work on is figuring out how the other deals with certain situations. Lauren shared that they both deal with stress differently. For instance, Cameron likes to come together when stressed, and Lauren likes to go off and be on her own. She said they both have stressful careers, so learning how the other deals with it was important. Throughout these two years, the couple has been learning when they need to give their partner their space, and respecting when they ask for it.
The two have also become influencers! Together, they started a YouTube vlog channel called Hanging With the Hamiltons, where fans can get a glimpse into their everyday lives. They also wrote a book called Leap of Faith: Finding Love the Modern Way where they discuss their unusual love story. They also shared they are thinking about starting a family soon.
Given the unusual start to their relationships, it is questionable to some whether or not these relationships will make it in the long run. One couple from the show, Giannina and Damian, who didn't get married but continued to date, called it quits earlier in the year.
