Marvel Reveals One Hero Who Doesn't Fear Thanos | Screen Rant

Warning! Spoilers for Eternals #6 by Marvel Comics below.

Marvel's Thanos is one of the most feared villains across the cosmos, as he's caused destruction on levels few bad guys could even fathom. However, one fellow Eternal isn't scared of Thanos and welcomes confrontation with the Mad Titan. In the newest issue of Eternals, Gilgamesh finally gets the chance to take on Thanos and doesn't waste his latest opportunity against him.

Gilgamesh is among the strongest Eternals ever, as the Forgotten One's is the group's de facto brute. In addition to Gilgamesh being one of the Eternals, he's also fought against the ancient race, and even was a member of the Avengers for a short time. Gilgamesh reappeared in the current Eternals series when Sersi drew him out from the sub-dimensional lair after using Tony Stark and the lie she was working with Thanos. Once free, Gilgamesh and his fellow Eternals have worked together to stop Thanos and figure out who was responsible for the damage to their resurrection machine.

In Eternals #6 by Kieron Gillen, Esad Ribic, Matthew Wilson, and Clayton Cowles, the Eternals go up against Thanos after finding out Phastos is responsible for bringing him back to life. The Mad Titan lands blows against Ikaris, but Gilgamesh intervenes and uses the Machine to open up a local core and bring the villain with him. As they fall into the location, Gilgamesh tells Thanos "you may frighten the aliens, half god... but you're in my house now."

Inside his domain, Gilgamesh hits Thanos with a thunderous strike. Sersi then joins in and uses a trick learned from She-Hulk about the Mad Titan suffocating her with a special fungus. Using a similar fungal plasma replicate, she wraps Thanos in fungus which poisons and overcomes his body, leaving him covered in growths. After stopping Thanos, the Eternals turn their attention to Phastos, who reveals he saved Thanos to stop the Great Machine, as its resurrection protocols actually meant each time one of their kind was revived, it killed someone on Earth. Gilgamesh, who's killed his own as punishment knowing they'd be revived, is stunned by the revelation - admitting he, like the other Eternals, have blood on their hands.

Gilgamesh has no problem facing Thanos, as he shows no signs of fear against the Mad Titan - which is increasingly rare in Marvel Comics, as the villains' actions have impacted just about the entire universe. Gilgamesh is the Eternals greatest warrior meaning he's prepared for mostly anything, including Thanos. But, learning he accidentally killed potentially thousands of innocent lives on Earth is even too much for him to take in. Eternals #6 is in comic book stores now.
