Masters of the Universe: Revelation Cereal Has Battle Cat Toys Inside

Masters of the Universe: Revelation is getting its own cereal with a Battle Cat toy included in every box. The battle to save Eternia is on when Netflix debuts its new animated series based on the hugely popular 1980s toyline and cartoon show.

Pop culture maven Kevin Smith is the He-Man superfan behind this new streaming iteration of Masters of the Universe. All the famous characters will be back, including He-Man himself, along with Skeletor, Teela, Man-At-Arms, Evil-Lyn, Orko, Beast Man and the rest. Some big name vocal talent will be on display in Masters of the Universe: Revelation as well, with Mark Hamill voicing Skeletor, Sarah Michelle Gellar playing Teela, Lena Headey handling Evil-Lyn, Alicia Silverstone voicing Queen Marlena and Tony Todd playing Scare Glow.

Of course no ‘80s nostalgia property like Masters of the Universe: Revelation would be complete without a full array of marketing tie-in products. FYE just revealed one highly appropriate Revelation-branded item, a cereal named Eternia Crunch. And since no ‘80s-style tie-in cereal would be complete without a prize, each box of Eternia Crunch includes a small Battle Cat toy. See the tweet announcement in the space below:

Battle Cat is of course the ferocious feline Prince Adam’s timid tiger Cringer (played in Revelation by Stephen Root) turns into whenever Adam calls upon the power of Grayskull and transforms into He-Man. Battle Cat is in fact so huge and powerful that He-Man is able to saddle him up and ride him like a horse. The small Battle Cat included in Eternia Crunch cereal is naturally not the only Revelation action figure that will be available for fans. Indeed, an entire line of Revelation toys is being released in conjunction with the new Netflix show. There’s also a Masters of the Universe: Revelation prequel comic book that promises to tie together various He-Man timelines.

And for fans concerned Smith may have strayed too far from the spirit of the original Masters of the Universe show with his reboot, Smith himself recently offered the reassurance that he has not “re-invented” He-Man. This despite the fact that the new show does feature somewhat older versions of the original characters (as previewed with the action figures). Fans will actually get in-depth insight into Smith’s thinking about his particular take on He-Man as each episode will include a commentary track (Smith does like to talk). Now thanks to FYE, He-Man fanatics can watch and listen while chowing down on their Eternia Crunch cereal and playing with their Battle Cat toy. Masters of the Universe: Revelation arrives on Netflix on July 23, 2021.
