RHONY: Why The Cast Is ‘Completely Divided’ Ahead of Reunion

The cast of The Real Housewives of New York is said to be 'completely divided' ahead of the reunion, amid reports of Ramona Singer's firing. The rumor mill is spinning with claims that Ramona is on the outs with producers and members of the cast. Following a pretty lackluster season filled with "preachy" moments, it's said that Ramona is attempting to skip out on the reunion to avoid being grilled with race talk. However, the OG is a strong presence on the show and her absence from the reunion would be a big problem.

The Real Housewives of New York season 13 introduced a lot of new dynamics on the show. The show is being filmed during the pandemic, on the heels of nationwide protests against racial injustice. Bravo's decision to cast the first Black housewife on the show brought new drama. However, unlike the usual onscreen spats that fans are used to, this season showed the predominantly white cast getting schooled about white fragility, microaggressions, and Black history. Eboni K. Williams' background as a lawyer, news analyst, and inclusion moderator resulted in a number of teachable moments during the seasons that the cast and some viewers felt were too "preachy."

The one housewife who showed the most opposition to Eboni's liberal views was Ramona. The Singer Stinger and the newcomer were constantly at odds over their cultural and political differences. Now, all of the season 13 drama is reportedly spilling over into the reunion and filming for season 14. "All hell is breaking loose behind the scenes at the Real Housewives of New York," a source told Daily Mail. "While the cameras are down, the drama is continuing." There are reports that Ramona is allegedly boycotting the reunion due to feeling upset about rumors she's getting fired, and not wanting to be put in the hot seat. It's said that the reunion has been moved from August 5 to a date to be determined in September.

In addition to the reunion show hold-up, the entire cast has reportedly been informed that production for season 14 won't resume until 2022, instead of late 2021 as planned. 'The cast is completely divided and the women are not getting along with each other," the source explained. It's said that things ended well between the ladies when filming for season 13 wrapped. "But as soon as the show started airing, Eboni K. Williams went to war against her castmates – particularly Ramona and Luann and the audience is switching off week after week," the insider added.

The reports come amid news of a drastic drop in ratings at The Real Housewives of New York. Last week, the Bravo show recorded its lowest-rated episode of all time with only 764,000 live viewers. The only episodes that received lower ratings were the "secrets revealed" episodes. Eboni has already declared that she is not taking the blame for the lower ratings. The show newbie has faced criticism from fans due to her constant scolding, but viewers can't deny that she hasn't backed down from confrontations. Now, fans will have to wait and see when the reunion and new season will air, and who will be included.
