Xbox is celebrating the console release of Microsoft Flight Simulator by giving away an Xbox Series S, complete with a suitcase modeled after the console, and an incredible monitor. Flight Simulator first released for PC in 2020 but makes its Xbox Series X/S console debut recently on July 27.
The game has been a huge success with PC gamers, and its console release has been one of the most hotly-anticipated launches of the year. Microsoft Flight Sim has been praised as one of the most incredibly realistic and immersive flight simulators on the market, with players able to navigate the skies and fly over everything from global landmarks to their own homes. The title is set to put Xbox Series X/S consoles through their paces with 4K Ultra HD on Xbox Series X. Microsoft Flight Simulator is available on Xbox Game Pass from today, allowing players with a subscription to dive right in without additional costs.
Residents of Australia and New Zealand are in with a chance to win a special edition Xbox Series S suitcase. Sharing the news on Twitter, Xbox ANZ revealed the competition with a series of draw-dropping screenshots, detailing not just the Series S console, but also a sculpted July suitcase, two gamepads, and even an ASUS ROG portable display. The incredible prize is worth a staggering $3,282 AUD/$3470.72 NZD (approximately $2,413) and can be won with just a retweet and reply. Gamers have until August 2, 2021 to enter.
Gaming outlet AusGamers has given a closer look at the prize after receiving one courtesy of Xbox. According to a pamphlet included in the case, removing the monitor from the suitcase reveals a second controller, an expansion card slot, and an international charging kit for the monitor. The monitor itself comes with a magnetized cover/stand to attach it securely to the case for an on-the-go gaming experience.
An Xbox Series S console is a worthy prize in itself, offering new-gen gaming in a smaller package compared to the rather large Series X. While the Series S doesn't quite offer the same specs as the pricier Xbox Series X model, it's almost small enough to class as portable - especially when included as part of a suitcase gaming rig.
While only one lucky Microsoft Flight Simulator fan will be able to win the suitcase competition, gamers around the world can enjoy the game on console from today. The console launch is just one of many exciting updates for the game, with upcoming additions including helicopters coming to Microsoft Flight Sim in the future.
Microsoft Flight Simulator is available on Xbox Series X/S and PC.
