Mina Starsiak from Good Bones is one half of the mother-daughter duo on the HGTV series, and it's time to share information about her life. Mina took over as sole owner of her and her mother's home renovation company in 2019, but she's been taking the Indianapolis real estate market by storm since 2008. With Good Bones season 7 in the works, there are plenty of interesting facts to learn about the HGTV star.
Mina Nicole Starsiak was born on November 26, 1984, in Indianapolis, Indiana, making her 36 years old. Mina from Good Bones is now a mother of two. She is the daughter of Karen E Laine and Casey Starsiak, who divorced when Mina was young, but later remarried. They eventually ended their marriage for a second time. The Indianapolis native Mina from Good Bones attended high school in the city and went on to study Business and Sociology at Indiana University before graduating in 2007.
Following her graduation from Indiana University, Mina worked as a waitress to pay for school loans and bills but wanted to take a risk and bought a fixer-upper. Along with her mother, Karen, Mina renovated the home and found her passion, which is tearing down homes to their bones and rebuilding them. The project was also the birthplace of the duo's then part-time company, Two Chicks and a Hammer. This company is now well-known to fans of the show. Following the creation of the company, Mina and her mom would renovate two to three homes a year, during their spare time away from their full-time jobs. However, it wasn't until years later (and more than 20 homes renovated) that High Noon Entertainment, who produced Fixer Upper and House Hunters, reached out to the duo about producing a show.
Since the premiere of Good Bones in 2016, the show has been renewed for a seventh season and consists of ten to fifteen episodes per season. With a total of 66 episodes, the show is a hit for HGTV. Along with Good Bones, Mina has appeared on multiple HGTV shows. One was Rock The Block, in which she finished second in the first season. The other was the HGTV event series, A Very Brady Renovation, which she filmed alongside her mom.
A number of Mina's family members have made appearances on the show, including her siblings, Tad Starsiak (pictured above with Karen) and Kelsy Gray. Altogether, Mina has a total of five siblings, consisting of two brothers from her parent's first marriage, a half-brother and a half-sister from her father's second marriage, and a half-sister from her mother's second marriage. Mina's husband Stephen has also appeared on the show, along with their children, Jack and Charlotte. Mina met her husband through mutual friends on Facebook, and though they had a terrible first date, the couple eventually hit it off, marrying in June of 2016. The couple's infertility issues and IVF journey have been highly publicized and were showcased during the fifth season.
Along with renovating homes and filming shows for HGTV, Mina also has a real estate license and is the acting realtor for Two Chicks and a Hammer. Mina and Karen (shown above) additionally opened a retail store, Two Chicks District Co., last year in the south side of Indianapolis, where they sell clothing, home decor, and food. Mina has also partnered with a number of companies and organizations. including Lowes, FabFitFun, and L.L. Bean. She is very active within her community. Mina helps local foster care agencies after she fostered her niece for 9 months. She has continued to honor nontraditional families much like her own, with her recently published children's book Built Together, which can be found at their store and at online outlets. Mina from Good Bones works hard and always gives back.
