How to Earn Fame in Humankind | Screen Rant

Fame is one of the most important resources in Humankind, and players must earn enough of it to win the game. While the many historically significant cultures that the player chooses to build their civilization in Humankind can excel in many areas, such as scientific research or warfare, the main way to beat the game involves every specialization. Accomplishing certain feats will earn fame for the culture.

This means that to win a game of Humankind, players will need to focus on earning as much fame as they possibly can as their people evolve and grow. There are three main ways to earn fame in Humankind, mostly related to cultural achievements. Here's how to earn fame and come out on top of the world in this unique and historic 4X strategy game.

To look at how much fame each culture has, players can hover over the symbol underneath their custom icon. Seeing the amount of fame every competitor has can help players determine who their biggest rivals will be. As a strategy, players should keep tabs on what those people are up to. Players can also click on their own custom icon to see a breakdown of all the fame that their culture has earned over the course of the game.

Throughout Humankind, there are several different objectives for players to work toward which are known as Era Stars. An Era Star is a measure of progress a civilization has made in a particular affinity, such as Agrarian, Builder, or Militarist. Every era in the game, barring the Neolithic era, has three of each type of Era Star to try and achieve.

Players should consider looking at the strengths of the culture they choose, such as the bonuses provided by their unique Legacy Trait and Emblematic Quarter, and work toward earning Era Stars in that particular field. For instance, the Olmecs' Natural Harmony grants bonus influence based on their territory, while their buildable Olmec Heads yield extra food. Therefore, players who choose the Olmec culture ought to focus on the Aesthete and Agrarian Era Stars, which require high influence and food respectively. Era Stars are also needed to progress to the next era, a mechanic other 4X strategy games like Civilization VI have, so players will already be working toward them.

Every so often in Humankind, there will be an objective that multiple cultures can compete in together for a chance to obtain fame. These include tasks such as circumnavigating the world, gaining access to every strategic and luxury resource, being the first to discover a particular technology, and many more.

While trying to complete every competitive deed may seem like a good idea, it may be more optimal to divert resources toward a specific one instead of all of them. Also, because many competitive deeds involve discovering certain features in the world, players should consider training scouts and building naval units to explore as much as possible.

Using earned influence in Humankind, players will be able to claim a cultural wonder for their people to build, such as the Stonehenge or Statue of Zeus. Completing one of these architectural marvels will net the culture that builds it a sizable amount of fame, in addition to a unique passive bonus. No other player will have access to this architectural marvel, but a large amount of production is needed to build it.

Players trying to build up as much fame as possible might erroneously try to build as many Wonders as they can, but the turns spent building it can be better used to create other buildings and military units. Rather than build every single wonder possible, players should focus more on the ones that synergize with their chosen Legacy Traits.
