The Pokémon-inspired MOBA Pokémon Unite, which was released July 2021 on the Nintendo Switch, has already revealed quite a few new characters joining its roster, including evolutions such as Gardevoir. The most recent of these, the Normal-type Pokémon Blissey, was reportedly discovered not long ago by dataminers and may be coming to the game in the near future.
Blissey was uncovered in early August alongside Sylveon, Greedent, and Blastoise - the last of which was already officially revealed following Pokémon Unite's release. There were also over a dozen other Pokémon revealed thanks to the datamine, though none of the others featured movesets, perhaps indicating that they're either earlier on in the development process or won't be playable any time soon. According to these leaks, Blissey's moveset includes Pound, Egg Bomb, Helping Hand, Heal Pulse, Soft-Boiled, and Heal Bell.
These leaked moves seem to indicate that Blissey will be a Supporter-type character, one of five unique roles on a team in Pokémon Unite. These characters are responsible for inflicting status conditions on opponents and healing allies, something that Blissey would be well-suited for. Given the way evolution works in Pokémon Unite - characters evolve rapidly over the course of each match - it's also more than likely that Blissey will be introduced alongside its two evolutionary predecessors, Chansey and Happiny.
On one hand, it could be quite a while before players should expect to see Blissey in-game, especially since the character hasn't even officially been announced yet. On the other, the fact that movesets and pictures of the character in action were both included in the leaks could indicate that it's substantially far along in the development process already and could be arriving in the near future. In fact, Blissey could be the third mystery Pokémon teased by developers in June on the official Pokémon Unite Twitter account.
Thus far, no customization items have been uncovered for Blissey, either, which provides further indication that Blastoise will be added to Pokémon Unite well before Blissey is. Gardevoir was released near the end of July, and it seems likely that Blastoise could follow this August, perhaps meaning that Pokémon Unite's new character releases will operate on a monthly basis. If that's the case, then Blissey could be coming out near the end of September, perhaps to coincide with the game's mobile release.
However, Blastoise could still release mid-August, setting things up for a release every two weeks or so and projecting Blissey's arrival closer to the end of the month instead. Either way, the release date will become more apparent as more official Pokémon Unite news comes to light.
