A new video for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings sees the cast answering funny questions about their Marvel Cinematic Universe characters. Created by Steve Englehart and Jim Starlin in 1973's Special Marvel Edition No. 15, the titular hero has also been known as the Master of Kung Fu and Brother Hand and is proficient in unarmed and weaponry-based wushu style. Development on a film adaptation began nearly 20 years ago at DreamWorks until the rights reverted back to Marvel Studios to be included in the MCU.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings stars Simu Liu as the titular character, who finds himself forced to confront the past he thought he left behind as his father's clandestine Ten Rings organization reemerges. Liu leads an all-star cast that also includes Awkwafina, Tony Leung, Meng'er Zhang, Michelle Yeoh, Fala Chen, Florian Munteanu, Ronny Chieng and Benedict Wong. As the film is finally gearing up to hit theaters after multiple release delays due to the ongoing pandemic, Marvel is looking to build anticipation for the next chapter in the MCU.
With just a month remaining until the film's release, Marvel has unveiled a new video for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. The featurette sees stars Liu, Awkwafina and Zhang playing a game of "Who's most likely to..." in regards to their characters in the next chapter of the MCU. Check out the funny video below:
Though the film has taken longer than audiences hoped to see get made, the footage and marketing for Shang-Chi thus far has certainly pointed towards the wait being worth it. The new video certainly works to build some anticipation with the comedic chemistry Liu, Awkwafina and Zhang have amongst each other, but it also offers a few unique new glimpses at some of the action in the film. One of the more exciting moments seen in the video is Awkwafina's Katy getting in on the fight in what is likely the latter portion of the film, shooting off a super-powered arrow in an unknown direction.
Previous leaks of merchandise for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings have certainly pointed towards Awkwafina getting to join the fight, but have also hinted towards the comedian's character harboring some secrets of her own. Additionally, the new video gives a glimpse at Zhang and Liu's characters fighting against each other in the film's fighting tournament, hinting towards some family drama at work early into Shang-Chi's return to his home. Only time will tell how these glimpses tie into the larger story when the film arrives in theaters on September 3.
