Crysis Remastered Trilogy Release Date Only a Month Away

The highly-anticipated Crysis Remastered Trilogy will soon be in the hands of players, with the collection's release date officially just over a month away. Crysis fans have been waiting for the Crysis Remastered Trilogy for some time now, with new performance upgrades set to provide the smoothest and best experience in the series to date.

Crysis Remastered introduced the classic Crytek first-person shooter to a whole new audience when it released for modern systems in 2020. While early reception was mixed due to some performance issues, the game's release prompted fans to ask when Crysis 2 and 3 might receive remasters, before the Crysis Remastered Trilogy was officially announced earlier this summer. The trilogy will include the three main Crysis games, but the new remasters won't include any of the multiplayer options seen in the original titles, making the new Crysis bundle single-player only.

Announcing the news on the official Crysis website, Crytek has confirmed that the Crysis Remastered Trilogy's release is right around the corner. The collection will be available from October 15, on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch. The game will also be available for purchase on PC via the Epic Games Store. Crysis Remastered 2 and 3 are being sold as a separate bundle purchase to prevent players from re-purchasing the original remastered title if it's already in their library.

Players can expect to experience the Crysis series like never before, with Crytek optimizing the game with new-generation consoles in mind. Those playing on PS5 or Xbox Series X can expect up to 4K resolution and a framerate of 60fps through Dynamic Resolution. On PC, players have the option of locking in their framerate, or playing on max settings with ray-tracing features. Crysis Remastered Trilogy will include improved lighting, as well as visually enhanced weapons and characters, and more detailed environments, offering what's hoped to be the most realistic and immersive Crysis experience possible.

While many are excited for the release of the Crysis Remastered Trilogy, there's some concern among fans. The release of the first Crysis remaster saw a few problems, with some platforms struggling to maintain 60fps. It's hoped that the new Crysis Remastered Trilogy won't suffer from any similar issues, but players won't have long to wait to find out for themselves. Crytek will be showing some comparison videos on YouTube leading up to the game's launch, which could help appease players. Earlier this year a Crysis Remastered PC update enabled raytracing on almost any surface in Crysis Remastered, which could mean Crytek has nailed down performance improvements in time for the new collection's release.
