MTV's reality competition show The Challenge is one of the most long-running and successful shows in the history of the network. And in its 37 seasons so far, there have been a lot of big Challenge winners and memorable moments.
Plenty of players have managed to win at least one season of the series, however an elite few have actually scored a lot of cash through their appearances on the show. What was the most iconic, unforgettable moment for each of the top 10 winners in The Challenge?
10 Wes Bergmann - Beating Derrick In Pole Wrestle
Pole Wrestle has become such a standby elimination on The Challenge that it's almost played out. But it's easy to understand why the show keeps coming back to it, because when it's good, it's amazing.
Wes went head to head with Derrick in a Pole Wrestle elimination in The Duel, and it was one of the most intense eliminations of all time. As any Challenge fan knows, defeating Derrick in anything is nearly impossible, and as Derrick demonstrated in his battle with Joss, he's a master of this particular elimination style. Wes' win here was amazing.
9 Dee Nguyen - Kicking Ass Swimming
Swimming is a vital part of any season of The Challenge at some point or another, but plenty of contestants undeniably have a lot of difficulty actually swimming well. And to be fair, it's not exactly a skill that is easy to learn as an adult.
However, someone had to pair up with supposedly bad swimmer Dee in War of the Worlds 2, and CT and Rogan had a bit of a blowout over who would be stuck with her. Rogan eventually wound up as her partner, but Dee absolutely killed it, proving all those homework lessons with Wes really paid off.
8 Jenny West - Demolishing Jenn Lee
Jenny West is undeniably one of the strongest physical competitors to join The Challenge in years, and it seemed like a given that she was going to beat Jenn Lee when they were pitted against one another in an elimination.
However, to say that Jenny dominated would be an understatement. She destroyed the elimination so quickly that no other player would have even had a chance against her, even TJ was astounded at how well she performed. That really set the tone for Jenny's reputation in the game.
7 CT Tamburello - Johnny Bananas Backpack
Honestly, were it not for his controversial decision in Rivals III, becoming CT's backpack may have been Johnny's most iconic moment in Challenge history as well.
There have been many epic events throughout The Challenge's many seasons, but most fans of the show will never forget when CT showed up as a mercenary on Cutthroat and literally stood up and walked across the elimination finish line with Bananas on his back. There's a reason why every male competitor is shaking in their boots when CT shows up on The Challenge, and this encapsulates his talents as a player more than any other scene.
6 Camila Nakagawa - Beating Laurel
Camila is undeniably a Challenge beast in her own right (she's not called the Camilanator for nothing), but Laurel is considered by many to be a nearly unbeatable player.
When Camila had to face off against Laurel in a Knot So Fast elimination, it seemed like there was very little chance that Camila would win. But against all odds, she not only defeated the most intimidating female competitor on the series, but she did it in one of the most difficult elimination formats too.
5 Cara Maria Sorbello - Competing With A Broken Hand
Cara Maria has been the star of quite a few underdog stories in her many seasons on The Challenge, but one of her most badass moments was when she squared off against Laurel in an elimination while sporting a broken hand.
The drama between Laurel and Cara had already been an explosive part of Free Agents, but seeing these on-the-outs former besties compete against each other in an elimination that Cara had almost no hope of winning was really memorable.
4 Turabi "Turbo" Camkiran - You Cannot Copy My Walk
Jordan has never been the type to back down from conflict, but he may have bitten off more than he could chew when he started smack-talking Turbo behind his back. Unsurprisingly, Turbo didn't take kindly to Jordan's behavior, and immediately confronted him when he heard what was going on.
The fight itself was aggressive, but things turned up a notch when Jordan began mockingly imitating Turbo. Turbo got extremely upset, memorably screaming "you cannot copy my walk," and was ultimately removed from the game after the argument.
3 Jordan Wiseley - Flipping Every Card On Free Agents
It may not have been the smartest play in Challenge history, but if one thing can be said for Jordan, it's that he's not afraid to compete.
He had been talking a big game about flipping every card in the draw until he found the Kill Card to go against Johnny Bananas, but some thought he might not pull the trigger when the elimination seemed to be something that would favor Bananas. However, when Jordan stepped up to the plate he followed through, forcing himself into an elimination round that he wound up losing.
2 Ashley Mitchell - Taking The Money From Hunter
Johnny Bananas walked so Millionaire Mitchell could run. Honestly, when it was revealed that the winning team would win the entire million-dollar prize, that was shocking enough. But, the fact that the highest performing member of that team could choose to keep the money or share it was even bigger news.
Most of the other teams on the season likely would have shared, but it wasn't entirely surprising that Ashley took the entire million bucks given the animosity she had with Hunter.
1 Johnny "Bananas" Devenanzio - Taking The Money From Sarah
Although betraying a partner isn't a good look, it certainly seems to help any Challenge competitor's bank account. Ashley obviously pulled the same move on Hunter, but Bananas really set himself apart both in that he was the first one to take the money and run, and because he and Sarah seemed to develop some kind of friendship throughout the season.
Bananas has had many memorable moments on The Challenge, but taking the entire cash prize on Rivals III was probably his most shocking and iconic.
