Minecraft Player's Giant Iron Farm Was Built In Hardcore Mode

While trying to survive in Minecraft Hardcore, one player built what could be the mode's biggest Iron Farm to date. Minecraft's Hardcore difficulty has remained a staple of the Java Edition for a little over 10 years, having first gone live in September 2011. Hardcore's premise works as expected in that it locks the sandbox title in hard difficulty and significantly increases the in-game challenge. Most notably, respawning is not possible if a player dies in tihs particular game mode.

That someone put the effort into building an Iron Farm in Hardcore hardly comes as a surprise, considering the sheer importance of the resource. Iron counts among the most valuable minerals in Minecraft, its many uses ranging from tool building to armor crafting. Fortunately, the resource isn't too difficult to come across while mining and exploring, yet players still find building Iron Farms largely beneficial. And it seems some users have become much more committed to the task then others, even in Hardcore difficulty.

Recently, Reddit user Enough_Lawyer_6089 shared a clip of their incredible Iron Farm build in Minecraft Hardcore. So massive is the creation that the player posits it could count as the "biggest Iron Farm in Hardcore Minecraft history." Apparently, the automatic farm boasts the ability to generate an impressive 200 iron ingots per minute and 12,000 ingots per hour. In short, this Minecraft player won't have to worry about collecting iron resources for a very long time to come. See the farm in action in the video linked below:

The above creation definitely warrants a spot on the list of over-the-top Minecraft builds. It serves a greater purpose, though, as Enough_Lawyer_6089 noted in a subsequent reply to the Reddit thread that they plan on using the excess minerals for additional hoppers and a "big auto sorter project."

In terms of new content releases, Minecraft has experienced quite the year and there's still more to come. Caves & Cliffs Update Part 1 launched in mid-June, for instance, adding a whole host of new animals, blocks, craftable items, and plants to the sandbox experience. The second part of the Caves & Cliffs Update is right around the corner, too, with a scheduled reelease date of November 30. Notably, Part 2 will introduce more sophisticated cave systems, previously unseen biomes, and significant changes to the limitations of Minecraft's terrain.
