The Avengers Are Using Celestials To Travel Across Time

Warning! Spoilers for Avengers #50 by Marvel Comics

The Avengers have figured out how to time-travel as Black Panther used Celestial technology to send a fellow her across space and time. In Avengers #50, T'Challa informs the rest of the superteam he sent Ka-Zar on a special mission across time to learn more about Earth's oldest legacy powers. Even Iron Man is stunned to learn that the Avengers can time travel as they please.

Avengers #50 is an essential next chapter in the Marvel Comics superteam's ongoing series. The comic serves as an introduction, continuation, and conclusion to several stories across the Marvel Universe. The book introduces the Multiversal Masters of Evil, finally follows up on Iron Man's connection to Mephisto, and wraps a tidy bow around the recent World War She-Hulk arc. Avengers #50 is anchored by the Savage Land hero Ka-Zar, who encounters several heroes and villains in his travels across time on the ultimate reconnaissance mission for the Avengers. However, Ka-Zar doesn't have time-traveling powers, as Black Panther tapped into a Celestial to send him across time.

In Avengers #50 by Jason Aaron, Aaron Kuder, Javier Garron, Rafael Fonteriz, Ed McGuinness, Carlos Pacheco, David Curiel, Alex Sinclair, Matt Hollingsworth, Rachelle Rosenberg, David Baldeon, and Israel Silva, the Avengers convene in their Celestial headquarters. After Captain Marvel suggests the team could use some new blood following She-Hulk's departure from the group, Iron Man says they have bigger fish to fry than bicker about who's joining them - such as the whereabouts of Mephisto. Black Panther reveals he's sent Ka-Zar, formerly a member of his Agents of Wakanda team, on a special mission through time.

Black Panther informs the Avengers Ka-Zar's mission is to learn more about Earth's oldest legacy powers. Iron Man is perplexed to learn the team has time-traveling capabilities, as Black Panther tells him they've used Celestial technology to make it happen. While the Avengers' Celestial headquarters might be dead, the team can still use the cosmic juggernaut's power for their own gain. It's an exciting yet somewhat terrifying new source of power.

The fact the Avengers made a dead Celestial their headquarters is very cool, but it also seems like a ticking time bomb waiting to go off. With the Earth's Mightiest Heroes using the fallen Celestial's energy to travel through time, it sure feels as though they're on the verge of tinkering too much and potentially unleashing something even more dangerous. The Avengers better hope that tapping into the Celestial's powers in such a significant way doesn't come back to bite them.
