Rob McElhenney has put together an exciting group of people for the Mythic Quest: Raven's Banquet cast, the third original comedy series from Apple TV+. McElhenney not only stars in the brand new comedy but he also created it alongside Charlie Day and Megan Ganz. Before the series officially launched, Apple TV+ greenlit a second season.
Mythic Quest: Raven's Banquet follows the workplace of a fictional multiplayer online role-playing game ahead of the launch for the game's first expansion. To keep the game on top, the employees must find fresh ideas to keep customers interested. In addition to the series focusing on the current culture of online gaming, it also delves into the world of office politics and gender tropes.
Due to McElhenney, Day, and Ganz's involvement in Raven's Banquet, it's no surprise that another familiar face from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia stars in the show. The same goes for Community, because of Ganz's time wring on the NBC sitcom. This project is influenced by both series in addition to fellow workplace comedies in years past. To better prepare for a binge, here's a guide to Mythic Quest: Raven's Quest cast and characters.
Co-creator Rob McElhenney stars as Ian Grimm, a megalomaniac who happens to be the creative director of the video game. Ian, who pronounces his name "eye-an" because he can, is the nightmare boss that takes the ideas and creativity from his employees and claims them as his own. For some reason, Ian's office continues to put up with him. McElhenney is best known for writing, developing and starring in It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, a sitcom that recently aired its 14th season. The actor has also worked on Lost, The Mindy Project, Fargo, and Game of Thrones.
Australian actress Charlotte Nicdao serves as the female lead Poppy Li, the head of engineering who is struggling to make it in the male-dominated video game industry. Despite the odds, Poppy ferociously fights to get to the top even if that means constant disagreements with Ian. Unlike her boss, Charlotte is quirky and likable but rarely gets the credit she deserves. Prior to her casting on Raven's Banquet, Nicado starred in A gURLs wURLd, Camp, Please Like Me, and Get Krack!n in addition to a small role in Thor: Ragnarok.
David Hornsby as David Brittlesbee: The cowardice executive producer of the video game who often tries to justify why he was hired at the company. Hornsby memorably played Rickety Cricket on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia as well as recent TV roles on Good Girls, Idiotsitter, Baskets, and New Girl.
Danny Pudi as Brad Bakshi: The company's head of monetization with no qualms about adding loot boxes at the center of the game to boost income. Pudi is best known for his role as Abed in Community but he has also worked on DuckTales, Powerless, Dr. Ken, and Royal Pains with cameos in Star Trek Beyond and Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Ashly Burch as Rachel: One of the overworked game testers and one-half of the show's romantic storyline. Burch has worked as a voice actress in video games for the better part of a decade with roles in hit games like Borderlands 2, Life Is Strange, Fallout 4, Horizon Zero Dawn, Fortnite, and The Outer Worlds. She also works on a number of animated series and served as a writer on Adventure Time.
Imani Hakim as Dana: The fellow Mythic Quest game tester and the other half of the romantic storyline with Rachel. Hakim previously worked on the series Everbody Hates Chris, ER, and the recent Netflix film, Cam.
Jessie Ennis as Jo: David's assistant who presents herself as a sociopath due to her violent dialogue. Ennis' past roles include Red Band Society, Veep, Better Call Saul, Love, and Life of the Party.
F. Murray Abraham as C.W. Longbottom: The out-of-touch sci-fi author that Ian hires as the head writer despite the man's age. Abraham's most memorable role is his portrayal as Antonio Salieri in 1984's Amadeus but he's also known for his parts in Scarface, Last Action Hero, Finding Forrester, The Grand Budapest Hotel, and the TV series, Homeland.
