AMC has released a new trailer for The Walking Dead, highlighting what's to come in the remainder of season 10, including a possible exit for fan favorite character Michonne. Currently, the protagonists are dealing with perhaps their biggest threat in the form of Alpha and her band of Whisperers. There have been a number of victims already, including Saddiq. Avi Nash, who plays Saddiq, has been with the show since season 8.
Big things are coming up on The Walking Dead. AMC released a trailer last month, teasing important developments. It also highlighted what's coming up on the midseason premiere. In the last episode, Alpha lured Carol, Daryl, and other characters into a trap. Fans are wondering if there will be any victims because of Carol's rashness. Of course, all eyes will also be on Michonne for the rest of the season. Her portrayer Danai Gurira revealed last year season 10 was her final outing. Fans have been wondering how Michonne will bow out. If the latest trailer is any indication, fans may want to have those tissue boxes ready.
Today, AMC revealed a new trailer (via TVLine) for the back half of The Walking Dead season 10. It's a short trailer, but features new footage from what's coming up. Check it out below:
There are a few things to absorb from this teaser. First, showing Judith shedding a tear could hint at Michonne meeting her demise. Judith is one of the stronger characters, but seeing her mom die would surely make her emotional. The final scene is likely generating a lot of discussion. In the original season 10 trailer from Comic-Con, it ended with Michonne wielding Negan's infamous baseball bat, Lucille. In the latest teaser, she is shown swinging the bat at an unseen target. What all this means remains to be seen.
Although some fans would probably want to see Michonne live, it's hard to think of a plot reason for her to stop appearing. Seemingly dying but actually living is one way, but that was already done with Rick Grimes. Time will tell, but everyone involved will hopefully make sure Michonne's exit is a satisfying one. Besides her, another character fans are going to be watching closely is Negan. The former antagonist joined up with Alpha, even bowing to her. Is this part of a scheme, or is he actually invested in becoming a Whisperer? Those who read the comic know Negan had a very vital scene in this story. It remains to be seen how closely the show will adapt the climax.
The Walking Dead returns February 23 on AMC.
