Cate Blanchett Joins Jennifer Lawrence in Adam McKay's DON'T LOOK UP at Netflix; as Well as James Gray's ARMAGEDDON TIMES

Cate Blanchett, Oscar-winning actress for films The Aviator and Blue Jasmine, isn’t letting the pandemic slow down her future acting schedule. The actress was recently reported to have taken on the role of Lilith in feature film adaptation of the hit video game franchise, Borderlands. She is also slated to star in the upcoming biographical drama Lucy and Desi as the beloved comedy star Lucille Ball, as well as a starring role in Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming film, Nightmare Alley.

Blanchett already has a full line-up, but the highly sought-after actress is now adding two more films to her upcoming roster. She is joining Jennifer Lawrence in the upcoming film Don’t Look Up that’s being written and directed by Adam McKay (Anchorman, Step Brothers) for Netflix. The film “follows two low-level astronomers who embark on media tour to warn mankind of an approaching asteroid that will destroy planet Earth.”

Blanchett is also joining the cast of Armageddon Times, which is being written and directed by James Gray (The Lost City of Z, Ad Astra). “The story draws on Gray’s own experiences as a student at the Kew-Forest School in Queens. Fred Trump served on the board of the private school and Donald Trump was an alumnus. The school’s principal will be a central character.”

These are great projects for Blanchett to be a part of. She is a phenomenal actress, and I’m always interested in the movies she is in. You can see Cate Blanchett now in her series Mrs. America on FX and Hulu.
