Chinese Zodiac: 5 Comedy Movies Pigs Will Love (& 5 They Will Hate)

People born into the Year of the Pig on the Chinese Zodiac are known for their compassion, generosity, and diligence, among other things. Pigs are also known for seeking and enjoying entertainment, and, as such, might find themselves turning to film for said entertainment.

Comedy is a genre they would likely enjoy, as it is full of entertainment and good laughs. However, like with any other genre, comedy is a mixed bag and not all Pigs are going to like all comedic films. In order to help Pigs find comedy they will actually like, here are five films they'll love, and five that they'll hate.

10 Love: Sisters

People born under the Year of the Pig are all about loyalty and entertainment, among other things, as previously mentioned. In this sure-to-be-classic Tina Fey and Amy Poehler collaboration, supplemented by the writing of iconic former Saturday Night Live writer Paula Pell, two sisters (Poehler and Fey) learn that their parents are selling their childhood home, and they throw a final party to commemorate their time there.

The two sisters are loyal to each other, even though there are some hiccups in their trust throughout the film. But their loyalty pulls them through and adults reliving their teenage years through a kegger provides plenty of entertainment that Pigs are sure to enjoy.

9 Hate: We're The Millers

Along the same vein of loyalty, Pigs will likely have a difficult time watching We're the Millers. It has a strong comedic cast and offers a compelling storyline, but the characters are at odds with each other more often than not, which is something Pigs are likely not going to appreciate.

Furthermore, the entire story is about a drug lord sending one of his dealers on what ends up almost being a suicide mission to steal drugs from another drug lord. Not only will this perturb the loyal side of Pigs, but their compassion will also cause them to feel distressed at the prospect of people getting into harm's way.

8 Love: Legally Blonde

Pigs are known for their diligence, as mentioned before, and as such, are known for their work ethic. They put their heart and soul in even the most menial tasks. It is this exact aspect of their personality that will make them love Legally Blonde.

Elle Woods (Reese Witherspoon), determined to become a lawyer to show her ex that she can be serious, not only gets into the prestigious Harvard law school, but she works hard and even wins legal cases in which she becomes involved. She later graduates with honors and learns to value herself and that she doesn't need anyone's approval but her own. Such a character arc would definitely appeal to the hard-working Pig.

7 Hate: Horrible Bosses

In spite of stellar acting by actors such as Jennifer Aniston and Jason Sudeikis, Pigs will not enjoy Horrible Bosses due to its depiction of workers disliking their jobs and bosses and then deciding to kill them as a means to fix the problem.

Compassionate Pigs would be concerned about the bosses' wellbeing, in spite of the fact that they are terrible people. Furthermore, killing their bosses is a display of disloyalty, a trait Pigs will definitely not appreciate in the main characters. It also certainly doesn't help that the rightfully now-disgraced Kevin Spacey is featured in a prominent role in the film.

6 Love: Like A Boss

Like a Boss features two strong women who are determined to improve their business and sell their company to a larger corporation as a means to do so. Even though the CEO, played by the iconic and hilarious Salma Hayek, is determined to drive the two women apart, their friendship pulls through in the end and the women are better for it.

Pigs will love the work ethic of Rose Byrne's character and relate to the fun-loving nature of Tiffany Haddish's character. Furthermore, Pigs will love that the two women's loyalty to each other and to their employees is ultimately stronger than their desire for money.

5 Hate: Silver Linings Playbook

Silver Linings Playbook is technically a comedy-drama, but it still provides many laughs for general audiences. However, Pigs will not like this movie due to toxic family dynamics and the fact that the events of the story occur because of a cheating significant other.

It follows the story of a man trying to get his life together after spending time in a mental hospital and finding multiple types of love (self-love, romantic love, and familial love) in the process. Even though all of these different kinds of love conquer all in the end, the toxic family dynamics almost drive the characters apart, and Pigs are more likely to be stressed out by this movie than actually enjoy it.

4 Love: Booksmart

Similar to films like Sisters and Like a BossBooksmart is about two high school best friends who learn to stick together in spite of obstacles trying to drive them apart. The characters learn this lesson as they try to get four years' worth of partying done in one night after dedicating their entire high school careers to working hard and getting into a good college.

Pigs are sure to appreciate the two main characters' work ethics and also appreciate the fact that the two girls are finally seeking enjoyment for themselves when they can. Loyal Pigs are also sure to appreciate that the two girls learn that, in spite of their differences in personality and their future differences in geographical location, they can still love each other and remain friends.

3 Hate: Mean Girls

This cult-classic parodies the drama and the difficulties teenagers face while in high school. However, its focus on teenage girls leads to the depiction of caricatures, rather than real people. These caricatures highlight only the most toxic traits of teenagers, especially teenage girls, which often means people turning against each other. Furthermore, one of the subplots of the film is a revenge plot devised in order to get back at the popular girls, known as the Plastics.

While there is plenty of room for laughs and the film has a strong comedic cast, Pigs are likely to hate this film because of its premise. Their loyal and compassionate sides will hate seeing teenage girls turn against each other for arbitrary reasons. Also, Pigs will hate seeing the main character Cady (Lindsay Lohan) neglect her work all for the attention of a boy.

2 Love: Little

Little is actually a fantasy comedy and is about a successful businesswoman who acts cruel to everyone around her due to past negative experiences. She learns to be kind after transforming into her 13-year-old self, the age she was when she started resorting to mean and hurtful behavior as a means of success.

Pigs will love Jordan Sanders's (Regina Hall and Marsai Martin) journey into becoming a better person and learning that she can be compassionate and loyal to her employees while maintaining a strong work ethic. This film will definitely appeal to all sides of Pigs.

1 Hate: Game Night

Game Night follows a group of friends who have weekly game nights. They are competitive with each other and often try to one-up each other as a result. One night, one of them is kidnapped by gangsters and their game night becomes a mystery that they have to solve to save their friend (or in one person's case, their brother).

While Pigs will like that the group of friends is intent on saving the person who is kidnapped, they will dislike the fact that people are in distress, and that protagonists and antagonists alike get hurt in the storyline. They also will dislike the competitive nature of the friend group, feeling that that is not a great friendship dynamic.
