The Marvel Cinematic Universe is one of the most popular and most quotable film franchises ever of the time. Most of the time that quotability comes in the form of memes. With each new MCU film comes an entirely new group of memes born out of some of the movie's most hilarious dialogue.
Since there are currently 23 films in the franchise, there is no shortage of them but their most popular templates have come from their most recent movies. Since it doesn't seem like the MCU is slowing down anytime soon, more is definitely on the way but here are some of the best ones from the movies fans have already seen.
10 "I Don't Feel So Good"
After Thanos snaps his fingers in Avengers: Infinity War, half of every character dies including Peter Parker aka Spider-Man. His last words to Tony were "I don't feel so good" before fading away into dust.
Although the line was sad during the film, after it came out, it became one of its ongoing jokes with people parodying it and showing themselves or others fading away in different situations. It shows that people could even find the humor in the death of a beloved character.
9 "Is This Your King?"
The delivery comes from Erik Killmonger at warrior falls after defeating T'Challa in a battle for the throne and the mantle of the Black Panther and before he would throw the former king off the waterfall into the freezing depths below.
The word "king" is usually replaced by whatever people want the subject of the meme to be but the format itself remains mostly the same.
8 "We Don't Do That Here"
In Infinity War, the Avengers to Wakanda to hide Vision and the mind stone. While Captain America had been to the country before, the others hadn't so it was perfectly reasonable of Bruce to ask Rhodey if they should bow when meeting T'Challa.
Rhodey jokingly tells Bruce that they should since he's a king and Bruce starts to bow before being stopped by T'Challa saying "We don't do that here" and motioning for him to stand up.
7 "I See This As An Absolute Win"
In Avengers: Endgame, the team accidentally turns Scott into a baby and an old man while testing out the time travel capability of their suits.
They manage to revert him to his regular state but Hulk seems to be the only one excited saying that he sees the situation as an "absolute win" while Steve looks on. The line is commonly used in a situation when the positive outcome could rarely be seen as worth the tradeoff that comes with it.
6 "You Must Be So Embarrassed"
In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, when Mantis is explaining her powers to the team when they arrive on Ego's planet, she demonstrates by touching Starlord and exposing his true feelings towards Gamora.
Quill tries to deny it but Drax immediately starts laughing about how embarrassed he must be and insists that Mantis try to read him next. The meme is often used as a reaction image when someone makes a fool of themselves which isn't that uncommon on the internet.
5 "Fine, I'll Do It Myself"
At the end of Age of Ultron, during the post-credit scene, fans saw Thanos go into his chamber and pick up the Infinity Gauntlet and put it on saying "Fine, I'll do it myself", teasing the next Avengers movie.
The audience never learned what he meant by this since he seemed to have no connection to Ultron or any of the events of the movie. The meme has been used by the internet to represent someone taking a situation into their own hands.
4 "Reality Can Be Whatever I Want"
In Avengers: Infinity War, the Guardians travel to Knowhere to attempt to prevent Thanos from getting the infinity stone from the Collector.
Unfortunately, when they get there they learn that they're too late when Thanos uses the reality stone to fake his own death at the hands of Gamora and then emerge unscathed, saying "reality can be whatever I want" and changing the surroundings to reveal the truth.
3 "I understood that reference"
Since Captain America was born in 1918 and was then frozen for over 70 years, he sometimes isn't aware of the references that his teammates like Tony and Banner make.
However, in The Avengers, when one of them mentions the Wizard of Oz which is one of the few films he is familiar with, he becomes understandably excited to get a reference that even Thor isn't familiar with.
2 "Is He though"
The line is said by Thor when he and Bruce Banner were on the planet Sakaar in Thor: Ragnarok discussing the difference in value he provides as the Hulk and as himself.
Thor tells Bruce that Hulk is powerful and useful but then Bruce insists that Banner is too, referencing his multiple degrees and Thor responds by giving a quizzical look and asking if he really is. The face Thor gives Bruce in that scene is funny enough on its own and the line sometimes won't even be included in the actual meme, just the image.
1 "Language"
At the start of Avengers: Age of Ultron when the team is storming the HYDRA facility, Iron Man runs into the shield guarding the facility causing him to curse. Out of instinct, Captain America who is more old fashioned that his teammates casually says "language" in response.
It's a quick moment but the rest of the Avengers continue to get on him for the rest of the film. While it's not as popular anymore, when the film first released, it was frequently used when people would use colorful language online.
