Typically, traditional press tour interviews for celebrities can be quite mundane and repetitive, with plenty of them being available to watch on YouTube. However, that is where Hot Ones came in and totally shuck things up with Sean Evans and his team creating a really compelling, honest, and entertaining interview show.
The idea that hot chicken wings could be the answer to creating something that would make celebrity interviews feel fresh might seem bizarre, but that has been the case. With really engaging and sincere questions being met with sheer panic and trauma as the guest struggles with the heat, it creates a really unique situation. The celebrities are forced to be open and honest as their focus is elsewhere, but while that is very entertaining, Hot Ones isn't the only top YouTube channel entertaining people.
10 Hiking With Kevin
Kevin Nealon is a well-known comedian who had a big part to play on SNL for many years, however, now he has his own YouTube channel. It's a really fun channel and much like Hot Ones, it is an interview show with a twist as all these videos take place on hikes.
The videos are actually quite relaxing as you get to take in some beautiful hikes and the sights that come with them, all while hearing a fun interview. Because Kevin often knows his guests well, there is a really chilled vibe abut the interviews and that sees the guest let their guard down for a fun chat.
9 Variety Studios: Actors On Actors
While this YouTube show is certainly more serious than Hot Ones, there is no doubt that Variety Studios' Actors on Actors videos are incredibly intriguing. Sean Evans always asks really insightful question in amongst the hot wing madness, and that's something that these videos thrive in.
The videos are always lengthy and detailed which helps to make them really engaging. But they're unique because they feature two actors interviewing each other and they really pick each other's brains about different aspects of the movie world all while telling great stories.
8 Happy Hour Podcast
This YouTube channel is run by Jack Maate and does an excellent job of interviewing guests in a unique manner. The YouTube world is one full of drama, and that is something that this show happily addresses. They don't hold anything back on this series, whether it's other YouTubers or celebrities.
It's a channel where big topics end up being discussed openly, with the questions really leading to some very honest answers. Much like Hot Ones, the series always brings tons of laughs, and that really helps make the videos so enjoyable to watch.
7 Scrambled
Gordon Ramsay had one of the funniest ever episodes of Hot Ones, which proved to be incredibly popular for First We Feast. However, he does happen to have his own, very popular YouTube channel. It features a lot of great content from cooking videos to clips from his many shows.
However, it is his Scrambled series that really is a lot of fun and similar to Hot Ones. Of course, food is the big link between them, but for this show, the English chef gets celebrities from Ronda Rousey to Steve-O to join him in the kitchen as they have challenges as discuss the careers of whoever is the guest in a unique environment.
6 Carpool Karaoke
This is one of the most well-known segments on YouTube, which comes from James Corden's popular Late, Late Show. However, it is a hit for a reason, because these videos are utterly hilarious and bring out a different side to people which is really fun to see.
Everyone sings in the car and seeing the biggest musicians in the world do it really is a lot of fun. There's something relatable to the entire thing and James Corden instantly makes his guests feel at ease, which allows for a lot of fun moments between them.
5 Jablinski Games
The core reason people enjoy Hot Ones is because it's incredibly entertaining and that is exactly what Jablinski Games is. This is Jack Black's YouTube channel and it is absolutely hilarious in every way possible. Primarily focusing on him playing video games, this has turned into a wild vlog channel that does all sorts of things.
There are fun challenges, Jack Black's everday life, his touring with Tenacious D, videos on movie sets, and its all done in a very funny way. Jack Black is incredibly charismatic, and he makes every video very engaging, which is why it's a channel worth seeking out.
4 Good Mythical Morning
At its core, Hot Ones is a food show, as the primary focus is on the chicken wings, and that is why people would likely enjoy Good Mythical Morning. Seeing the two hosts, Rhett and Link try out all sorts of different products, primarily in the food world, doing experiments and just having a great time.
They're both very intelligent and they have a very good rapport together, which makes their videos so unique and enjoyable to watch. The videos are always very entertaining and provide a lot of laughs, which overall creates for a brilliant YouTube channel.
3 Between Two Ferns
This is an older YouTube channel and it's utterly ridiculous, but it also led to a Netflix movie being created, so it clearly was a hit. Between Two Ferns is a hilarious mock interview show which is hosted by Zach Galifianakis, who plays the role of the interviewer in a brilliant way.
He has no problem asking the most insane questions to his celebrity friends, all while being straight faced, and the reactions are incredible. These videos are just insanely entertaining and openly mock the classic interview format.
2 Sean In The Wild
Of course, a big reason for the success of Hot Ones is Sean Evans himself. He is very endearing and he really is a brilliant host with insightful knowledge and a clear understanding of his guest. But if people want to see more of Sean, in a more relaxed environment, then Sean In The Wild is the perfect show.
This series is also on First We Feast and sees Sean travelling around the globe looking for the very best food possible. He tries different things and meets a variety of people which is incredibly entertaining and seeing him in a different style of show just reaffirms that he's entertaining even without the hot wings.
1 Cold As Balls
This show is very similar to Hot Ones in the sense that it is an interview-based YouTube show that puts the guest into an awkward and uncomfortable situation in order to totally take them out of the mindset of a traditional interview. Instead of eating hot wings, on Cold As Balls, guests have to sit inside an ice bath while answering their questions.
The fact that this show is hosted by Kevin Hart only adds to the excitement as well. He's at his over the top best in this interview series and he always makes his guests feel really comfortable. Because of that, the interviews are always really entertaining, which is the key for any YouTube channel.
