The Big Brother 22: All-Stars fandom doesn't usually defend Nicole Franzel, but Evel Dick's tweet saying that he'd be 'fine' if she 'died' has crossed a line for many fans. At this point, Dick Donato has competed on Big Brother twice. On BB8, he was cast along with his estranged daughter Daniele Donato. That season, the big twist was that certain houseguests would have to spend the summer with the worst person that they could possibly think of. In Dani's case, it was Dick. Nonetheless, Dick and Dani made a great team and took themselves to the Final 2. In the end, the father won the jury vote and took home $500,000.
Years later, Dick and Daniele Donato returned to the series to compete on Big Brother 13. The twist on that season was that the players would play in pairs for the first few weeks. Moreover, three legendary BB pairs were brought back as returning houseguests: Dani and Dick Donato, Rachel Reilly and Brendon Villegas, and Jordan Lloyd and Jeff Schroeder. Unfortunately, Dick had to leave the show suddenly due to personal reasons. Dani made it far but was evicted on a Double Eviction. In 2020, Daniele was cast on Big Brother 22: All-Stars, her third time on the show. In the house, she's been good friends with Nicole Franzel... but the viewers aren't huge fans of that friendship.
Dick Donato is known as a straight shooter who criticizes people's gameplay as he sees it, even if that's his own daughter on Big Brother: All-Stars. Nonetheless, it's fair to say that Evel Dick has been particularly tough in his criticism of Nicole Franzel. Generally, the active BB fandom on Twitter is not particularly positive for Nicole. With that said, one of Dick's tweets sent out this Wednesday, September 30 seems to have crossed a line even with the Big Brother fans that actively dislike Nicole. In the now-deleted tweet, Evel Dick said: "If Nicole died, I'd be fine with it."
The fans are considering Evel Dick's tweet a low blow. After all, he is a Big Brother legend who basically just wished upon Nicole Franzel's death because he is annoyed by her actions on BB22. This certainly seems like a lot of misdirected energy being sent toward someone just for having a personality that many fans are very annoyed by. Ultimately, it's a bad move and an unfunny joke to subtly imply Nicole's death would be inconsequential just because some fans don't like the way she plays the game and goes about her life.
Still, it must be noted that Evel Dick's followers are used by now to this brand of "humor," even when it's not clear at all where the joke was coming from. With that said, the fans also have the right to react to what he says.
Big Brother 22: All-Stars airs Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays at 8pm EST on CBS.
