Zack Snyder's Justice League trailer has gotten a 16-bit update, and it's kind of awesome. For years, fans have campaigned for Warner Bros. to release director Zack Snyder's original Justice League, and they finally got what they wanted earlier this year. Snyder's Justice League, fondly dubbed the Snyder Cut, is set to be released on HBO Max next year and will be the exact film Snyder set out to make years ago before he left the production due to a family tragedy. It's expected that this version of Justice League will feature different storylines and characters than the theatrical cut, which was directed by Joss Whedon.
Over the years, Snyder unveiled tidbits from his Justice League, whether it was through simple teases about what the story entailed or actual, concrete images. Still, there was a great deal of anticipation surrounding the actual Justice League trailer, which Snyder finally unveiled at DC FanDome in August. While it didn't reveal a release date for the long-awaited film, it did get fans excited about what's to come. Fans have surely pored over every shot from the nearly-three minute trailer, and now they have a new way of looking at it.
The Justice League Snyder Cut trailer recently got a brand new look courtesy of John Stratman. This time around, Superman (Henry Cavill), Batman (Ben Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), and the rest of the iconic team have been rendered in classic 16-bit form. Each shot has a decidedly different structure this time around, but it's rather fun to see the characters (as well as hear "Hallelujah") as if they were in an old video game. It's always fun to see a beloved trailer in a new light, whether it's because it gets adapted into a new style like the one above or it's a different movie taking on another trailer's structure, like a recent fan-made Avengers trailer redone to look like Justice League's. At a time when new, buzzworthy trailers are a bit hard to come by, it's nice to revisit old favorites. As the wait continues for Zack Snyder's Justice League, fans will surely be rewatching its trailer to help tide them over.
Right now, it's still unclear as to when Snyder's Justice League will premiere on HBO Max. There was once talk of it arriving in the early part of the year, but reports of new Justice League reshoots has led some to wonder if it could arrive later. Regardless of when it debuts, fans will eagerly flock to the streaming service to see the film Snyder has championed for years now. Zack Snyder's Justice League is coming, and fans couldn't be more excited.
