Fans have noticed that Alaskan Bush People's Matt Brown has totally disappeared from social media after the star was accused of rape. The reality star had been keeping his fans up to date on his California adventure but now his account has gone quiet.
Alaskan Bush People is a fan favorite due to the Brown family and their trials and tribulations. The Discovery Channel series follows around the Wolf Pack on their mission to stay self-sustainable while also living a very secluded life. Parents Ami and Billy decided to raise their six children off the grid by removing themselves from society. For years, fans watched as the children had no idea about what music was popular or about the advancement of DVDs.
Since August 31, the reality star has not posted a single message to his Instagram account. His last social media post had to do with the older brother sharing his artwork. Matt captioned his last post by saying, “I just put out a YouTube video where you can watch me draw a cool picture in timelapse!"
The media blackout comes as no surprise to viewers who learned recently that the Discovery Channel personality had been accused of rape by two different women. Jessica Jurges was a personal assistant to the family and accused Matt Brown of tearing off her swimsuit, grabbing her by the arms and raping her. The other accuser was Shelly Dawn Early, who at the time of her incident was Matt’s manager. The 37-year-old also accused Matt of raping her three days later at the same location in Canoga Park, Los Angeles. Fans who have followed the story also know that both women reported the incidents to LAPD’S Topanga Division, who did decide to investigate. But the DA has recently declined to prosecute. One of the victims even reached out to Bear and Gabe Brown, Matt’s brothers, who seemingly apologized for Matt’s behavior. Jessica also mentioned in her statement that Matt had been drinking vodka at the time of the incident. While Shelly claims that Matt was so drunk that he believed she had raped him.
The news comes as a shock to most fans of The Alaskan Bush People, since the Brown family has always put a squeaky-clean image out about themselves. Matt Brown has not appeared on the show for many seasons and the network has no intention of letting him back on. Hopefully, the much-needed downtime will have Matt in a better headspace to handle his addiction and impulse control.
