The Arrowverse has introduced multiple superheroes since its first show. Some of them were already better-known, others were far from mainstream. Either way, they all have something to offer, from a rich plethora of special skills to long and hard physical training that amounts to incredible fighting abilities. Depending on their set of skills, each superhero chooses a different form of combat.
Some prefer hand-to-hand combat while others rely more on various weapons or choose an entirely different approach for bringing their opponents down. The Arrowverse has many great characters but only some excel at hand-to-hand combat.
10 Citizen Steel
Nate Heywood can turn his body into steel - but his main asset is his intelligence and knowledge of history. Nate functions as the team's chief historian (alongside their ship computer Gideon, of course).
Nate never formally trained, but when he got his power, he joined the fight nonetheless. He has a mean punch when he's in his steel form but he's better at taking punches than throwing them.
9 The Flash
The Flash isn't the greatest fighter there is. He's not entirely bad, but like many super-powered people, he primarily relies on his special skills - in the Flash's case, his speed. That gives him a clear advantage because it's difficult to hit someone who's moving as fast as the speed of light (or more).
But when Barry doesn't have his powers at his disposal, others can defeat him, sometimes rather quickly.
8 Mick Rory
Mick Rory is big and threatening, and sometimes that's enough. Mick has two main means of defending himself - either by using his heat gun or by simply beating people.
Mick actually likes fighting others which means he's not bound to hesitate when the time comes to join a fight--in fact, he welcomes it. That, combined with his natural strength, often is all he needs to defeat whomever he faces at the moment.
7 The Atom
Ray Palmer mostly functioned as the smart guy, not the strong guy. But he trained his body as well as his mind. Ray could throw a punch if he wanted to.
He was nowhere near the level of Green Arrow and likes of him, but once he was in his suit, he could use its powers to hold his own in a fight. It helped that he could shrink and become bigger in a mere moment, surprising his opponents this way.
6 John Diggle/Curtis Holt/Rene Ramirez
Strength-wise, John Diggle, Rene Ramirez, and Curtis Holt are on similar levels, with Curtis being the weakest one (but also the smartest one) of the three.
All of them have fighting training but even when they joined their forces, they weren't able to take Oliver, who trained them, down. That said, their fighting skills were still sufficient against a large number of opponents who tormented their city.
5 Martian Manhunter
Technically, Martian Manhunter is stronger than some of the men who ranked above him. But he also prefers to rely on his other skills. In fact, Martian Manhunter is accustomed to blending in, infiltrating his environment. He doesn't see violence and physical combat as the primary solution, and only uses it when there's no other choice.
And even then, he can take down his opponents from distance, which means he doesn't get to practice his hand-to-hand combat skills as often as others do.
4 Superman
Superman doesn't have that much space in the Arrowverse, but that will change with his upcoming show. But for now, his case is similar to Martian Manhunter. Superman is definitely stronger than Green Arrow and others, but he uses other preferred means of combat than hand-to-hand combat.
His laser eyes often do the trick. And let's not forget that without his powers, Superman doesn't have that good of training, not like Batman. Green Arrow was even able to defeat him before which speaks volumes about their individual strength and weaknesses.
3 Slade Wilson
Arrow has created many memorable villains, but one of the best ones was Slade Wilson aka Deathstroke. Slade originally started as Oliver Queen's mentor and friend but turned his enemy when he took Mirakuru and Shado died. It warped Slade's mind and he went on a warpath against Oliver.
Unlike some other villains, Slade was able to leave a lasting mark on Oliver's life when he killed his mom. And his Mirakuru-induced strength combined with his training made him a remarkable opponent.
2 Malcolm Merlyn
Also known as the Dark Archer, Malcolm Merlyn was the first significant enemy the Arrowverse had - and also one of the best hand-to-hand fighters. Merlyn was also the living proof that youth wasn't always an advantage when it came to fighting and winning. Merlyn trained with the League of Assassins after his wife had died.
He was able to defeat Oliver Queen as well as many others, thanks not only to his fighting skills but also the fact he was brutal and not afraid to kill.
1 Green Arrow
Unsurprisingly, sometimes those people best at hand-to-hand combat are also those who have no special powers. The reason for this is that they have to rely on their strength and ability to fight--otherwise, they would die.
Oliver wasn't able to defeat all of his opponents but he did a fine enough job protecting his city and fighting those who wanted to hurt it. His training with the League as well as multiple mentors helped the matter, but Oliver continued to hone his fighting skills throughout most of his adult life.
